I don't do much in the FPS, fighting, or racing genres, so I am fine with 1080/30.

1080p 30fps.
In racing and fps the extra resolution trumps 60fps for me. I can better anticipate upcoming corners, and more easily spot things in the distance. For games where all the action happens up front 720p60 is fine, shmups, platformers etc, although native display resolution looks better.

Which do you prefer and why?

I personally think 720p 60fps is better

I would rather have smoother gameplay than better looking textures...

But what says you? (Is that even English...)

You must have a very small TV.

On 55" and above, even 900p upscaled to 1080p looks odd.

I am pretty sure I have a 17" TV,  does have HD though!

Post your bank account number. I'll send you some money as a donation for a new TV.

I'll take the 60fps... It's just more proper for gaming in my eyes.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

I can't stand 720p. So for me 1080p always.

Out of context like that it's hard to tell :-/

60fps is generally much more important than resolution...

1080p 30fps for sure having more detail and high fidelity of gfx. For racing sim, fighting 1080P 60fps.

Even sports game I think with little less detail 1080P 60fps is possible

1080p @ 30fps. I rather actually see what I'm shooting at in an online game...

It surely explains why you prefer 720p... Try it on a 40'.

It's not "better looking textures". It's called image clarity. It helps you to see what is happening in the game. Even on a competitive online game, it's an advantage.
