Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS3 was a beast!!!!

Since the only reason I buy Playstation consoles is to play the exclusive JRPGs available in them, the PS3 is easily the worst console I've ever bought.

I take it you didn't own a ps3? Yeah, it's a great system, still getting good support to this day. Head and shoulders the best home console of last gen imo. I just want Tales of Zestiria!

ARPG for sure but they had nothing turn based that came even close to Lost Odyssey

Mistwalker really made some great JRPGs for Xbox 360 but PS3 do have great turn based JRPGs as well.. Eternal Sonata, Disgaea 3+4, Final Fantasy X, Resonance of Fate, Tales of Graces f (kinda turn based), Valkyria Chronicles (strategy) and Persona 5 (not out yet) are all great turn based JRPGs.

Eternal Sonata isn't turned based and I would know since I actually got all the achievements for the game and would have double dipped on the PS3 version if it would have had trophies its a ARPG.  The Disgaea games also can't be compared to Lost Odyssey since the are tactical RPG's and LO is a pure turn based JRPG.  None of the Tales games are really turn based they are pure ARPG's.  Final Fantasy X is just a slightly enhanced port of the PS2 version and Resonance of Fate is also available on the 360.

I know Resonance of Fate is available on the 360?? :S All I said was that PS3 had some pretty good turn based JRPGs as well. Also why the need to describe FFX Remaster as a slightly enhanced port of the PS2 version? Why is that relevant at all? All I said was that it's a great turn based JRPG available on PS3.

Why are you always being so defensive? It's tiring.

Regarding Tales of Graces f its battle system is kinda (as I mentioned) turn based in that you have to let your "Chain Capacity" (CC) build up before you can attack.

Regarding Eternal Sonata its battle system is turn based indeed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9hB9vqkmhs

If "pure" turn based JRPG's is what one is looking for, don't forget PS3 also has a plethora on PS1 classics and some PS2 classics for JRPG's as well. The PS3 really was the RPG king of home consoles last gen.

Nope, neither FFX or X2 come even close in overall quality to LO.

LOL   in your opinion that is...but awe well..

... Okay now you're either trolling or blind!

Is FFX exclusive to the XBox brand?

No?

Then you can count on him to downplay it.

I'm not trolling I own the game and it doesn't look that much better then the PS2 version.

Eternal Sonata is a turn based ARPG still not the same as LO which is pure old school turn based JRPG.

I think you need to look at my sig I own a PS3 and use it on a regular basis there is no need for me to downplay it on the other hand most people that bash the X1 and the 360 don't even own one.

PS3 was the best last gen.

Agreed. For me Xbox 360 started out best because of its lower price and superior controller but from 2008 onwards PS3 got the most unique and varied library and for that it ended up as my favorite 7th gen console.
