Goodnightmoon said:Is like saying " Im interested on a movie for it´s music since, you know... that´s the film focuse ". Well, than is probably not a good movie, is a movie with a great bso. Main focus of a good game used to be gameplay.

Some of the greatest games have fantastic storytelling. Also, each game prioritizes on different aspects. Some on the fun factor, others on gameplay. And of course, some games focus on the story.

The problem is when it feels like the game plays itself alone, when it feels like you do little to nothing, just see long CGIs with overdramatic an stereotypical storytelling, press some bottoms on quick time events, and shoot some enemies on the way with almost automatic target, Is like you are doing NOTHING, and you don´t get any fun playing it, you just keep playing to see the end of the story, and there are tons of disapointing endings on this overhyped cinematic games, and once you´ve play it, that´s all, there´s no interest in re-playing a linear average fps that plays itself alone once the story is out, you are paying 70 BUCKS FOR A FILM!

What is this...I can't even right now guys

Just ignore it, some things aren't worth it.

Agenda, you're so silly. Just speaking facts. More people care about graphics and how it looks rather than actual game play.  Have fun with your ''agenda'' talk though  :)

this is based on what? have you taken a survey of over half of the gaming population to ascertain this?

if its based purely on anecdotes then by the mere fact that me and my friends are not like that your claim has been disproven

the top selling games btw are not the games that are lauded as being the best looking games its games with more subdued visuals like CoD and GTA that get the most sales so again your claim is disproven

and i mentioned an agenda because of the types of posts you generally post in playstation discussions

Like I said, you can have fun with throwing ''agenda'' around if that makes you feel good. That's fine. You're entitled to that if you wish, thats on you.

I however post everywhere on all companies articles, so im good to go either way :)

I see you ignored the posts where everyone proved your post was inaccurate.

well they do not align with her agenda so what did you expect?

Why is that such an issue though? This has been the case since, well, forever. Ever seen the first ever Zelda commercial?

"Whoa! Nice graphics! I'd like to get my hand on that game!" Quickly followed by: "What, you mean you haven't played it yet?"

Yup, 1980's, and it was the same while I was also growing up in the 90's, and the 2000's, and yes, even today. People like graphics, lol. It shouldn't come as any surprise.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

wrong thread :P

the vest majority of games are not ground breaking... in fact the very title "ground breaking" means that its a very very rare occurance

its the reason why nintendo for example can continue to release sequels to their olders games series and people still buy and enjoy them

because a game only needs to be enjoyable for people to invest in it it does not need to innovate it does not need to rewrite a genre etc

i wonder, however, if i'll see you bashing other games series for not being ground breaking

Actually, I don't have any problem with the game not being "groundbraking" in the slightest, hell, my favorite game of all time isn't groundbraking in the slightest and I stilll fucking love it, I just have a problem with trailers portraying games in such light, look at what the guys in the trailer are saying, I'm pretty sure the editors just took the most positive receptions of the people to make the game look better and that way hype more people up. Maybe it isn't fair to judge the game for doing this since A LOT of other games/movies/music/ANYTHING do this, but I believe that you should let your game speak by itself, if people are impressed/interested in your game, they'll buy it, there's no reason to try to hype us up with words of other players.

I'm now filled with determination.

Yeah, like probably this game ;)

And btw I was talking general, not about this game only, I haven´t play it and it has the chance of surprise me but I feel, seeing the gameplay that they´ve showed, that this is gonna be one of that games.

Good or bad, only Sony would attempt something like this. This is why I love Playstation.
