I have not played SO but I do not see how it could counter Infamous? Infamous 1 sold better and the latest Infamous sold better? Nothing against SO but it is not a console seller. (Infamous Second Son is the only Infamous that was)

It definitely doesn't have the selling power of Infamous, but the games are similar mechanically. They're both TPS open city sandbox platformers. Not many of those around.

This is the easiest question to answer being that this is a sales website. Sony is the market leader and Infamous and Killzone were the top billed exclusives. Those games reached a million by association to marketshare in no time at all. InFamous might end up being more popular this gen than the last, but thats an established franchise.

BTW

I never said SO was a console seller. InFamous Second Son wasnt a console seller either. If it was it would've sold much higher. InFamous and Killzone are not the top tier Sony titles you're making them out to be even though I love them both. They are the second tier, support titles. This is the point I am making about SO. SO has the potential to be a second tier exclusive for Microsoft along with Crackdown, Fable and some others.

MS should invest in Titanfall instead. I feel like SO doesn't need sequels.

didn't SO win turd of the year recently? is ms has any sense they'll focus on titanfall and ensure that titanfall 2 ships as a more "complete" game.

Your point? Show me a shred of evidence SO is going to take off the same way Uncharted did.

My point is that it didnt sell 5m in 9 weeks.  For starters every uncharted game gets bundled pretty heavily.  Theyre amazing games and sell good on their own merrits but they continually get bundled every holiday.  This was one reason its legs lasted as long as it did.  THat and UNcharted 2 was simply amazing to put it in words which got people interested enough in buying it.

And if you want to look at the genre and a game that has sold similar to Sunset Overdrive then go look at InFamous. InFamous and Sunset has sold very similar.  IN fact both sold 750k in 9 weeks.  InFamouse went on to sell 2.84m.  Again a game that gets bundled a lot but its a game that can sell on its own.

Its pretty undeniable that Sunset Overdrive will reach between 1-2m on its own.  So much for a flop.....more like over exaggeration from people with an agenda and does no research on sales.

And if Sunset Overdrive is bundled similarly to how Forza, InFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Halo, Uncharted, and many other first party games then yeah the legs will also be increased for holidays extending its legs even further

As for Gears.  Its a game that can sell 5m+ without bundling every holiday.  NOt too many games can do that and Sunset isnt one of them.  Though Stage isnt saying it would and isnt what he is proposing

Exactly. The game is the definition of fun in the purest sense. It needs some work to make it a 9.5 level game but it has had a great start.

If you do not think that Infamous SS and Killzone SF sold consoles then I do not know what to tell you.

Yeah, it's pretty solid. I wouldn't say it's amazing because, like Infamous it gets repetitive, but it's really really solid gameplay wise. REALLY solid.

Id imagine they sold some consoles......?  Are you telling me these games played no part in PS4 sales when both are in the top 15 best selling PS4 games?
