Forums - Gaming - [Kotaku]In Japan, Vita has more upcoming games than any other console.

Another neutral topic that becomes "Every Other Platform VS Nintendo".
Just another day in VGC.

Same game reskinned basically.

If what you're saying is true (I don't know enough about it) and it's been reskinned as a Mario game then that'll be why it's coming west.  Hence, my original point still stands (JP sales of Puzzles & Dragons Z did nothing to get it localized - it was other factors).

Eh?Sorry samus aran isn't right?Yokai watch and not only the game are coming in the west this year!If YW wasn't a huge success in Japan would it be localized?

What?

We don't even know who is localizing it yet.  Nintendo had to localize Level-5's last game, despite it selling decently in Japan.

Vita needs more games in NA.

It was Gungho who asked Nintendo for a SM Puzzle & Dragons, not the other way around.

39 games. I question how many of those have mass appeal outside of Japan.

Only 2 Wii U games coming out Q1 this year in Japan? Lol. *insert nintendo has no third party support joke*
In all seriousness, Wii U probably has a few games coming out during this period without solid release dates that weren't counted.

Ironically, this is a result of Nintendo doing what everyone said Nintendo should be doing. If they had just gone the way they did with Wii, I doubt we'd be discussing about the lack of game releases.

The Wii's drought of game releases was just as bad......

Can't remember how it was in Japan this time of the consoles lifetime, but had Nintendo made Wii U a console that sells (worldwide numbers), I'm positive there would be more games coming. Otherwise Wii had lots of games - not the big budget heavily marketed ones though.

Narrow minded view that ignores all external factors. It's Sony's fault that Vita has no first party support.

Its Nintendo's job to sell 3rd parties on their console. Being underpowered, harder to port to and having rubbish sales isnt going to sell anyone on developing for WiiU.

Ironically, this is a result of Nintendo doing what everyone said Nintendo should be doing. If they had just gone the way they did with Wii, I doubt we'd be discussing about the lack of game releases.

Did everyone say Nintendo should not try to get 3rd parties and did everyone say they should release an underpowered (compared to PS4X1) console with a tablet controller? I must've missed the memo

You didn't get the memo? Wow.

I believe Wii U launched with more 3rd party games than PS4 or Xbone.

What the talking heads were saying was to release "an upgraded Wii". Besides the reason why the third parties aren't there is the lackluster sales of Wii U, that's what we can blame Nintendo for.

Well it refutes one of your examples.

Without good sales in Japan localization is unlikely. But yeah, it's not the only factor of course.

Puzzles & Dragons: SME =/= Puzzles & Dragons Z.  They are two separate games.

And sadly the real one isn't coming. Well, I will buy SME, but only because I don't get the original.
