I don't think so... Would it help the Wii U? Maybe a little. But we have to consider that the Wii U is serving different demographics than the PS4 and Xbox One are. Such a game on the Wii U would not perform well, since most people who would want such a game will already have another system to play those types of games.

Nintendo should stick to what they do best... But then again, sticking to what they do best didn't do much to prevent the Wii U's fortunes. And that's a shame.

Hmm, that would be interesting to see what Nintendo does if they ever consider to make their own military shooter.

Don't buy military shooters anyway. I think they should get a new studio if they're going to do this because quite frankly I don't want any dev time taken away from crafting those Nintendo games I get for my Nintendo systems.

What do you mean by different demograph? Maybe a kids demograph? LOTS of KIDS play COD!! Most parents don't care as long as it keeps their kids busy for a couple of hours.

And you say it wouldn't do much for Nintendo. Of course it wouldn't sell in the 8mill + range like COD, but even COD sold under 3 million copies at one point. This would get the ball rolling for a New IP and develop a fanbase for it. I think if they do release it some how, if it sells over 2million copies initially it would be a success. And if the game catches fire, you might see it maybe in the 5-8million range.

I am excited about Star Fox using the gamepad for cockpit view, and I want a submarine game in which you use the gamepad as a periscope, and a flying game in which you use the gamepad as a gun turret.

I you consider that military shooters, then I want that

To get huge sales Nintendo needs to go mainstream, but I also feel going mainstream goes against their ideals and creativity.

That would be an interesting idea, but I highly doubt it would do much for the WiiU!
