For games, natch. Problem is, while Nintendo makes the best games, their crap hardware means that they're the only ones making games for the Wii U. It means that there's a whole world of other games that don't come to the Wii U. It's kind of hard to convince people to drop 300 bones on what has essentially become a Nintendo machine.

In the past software and hardware both were profitable, unfortunately due to increasing competition not only from microsoft and sony but pcs and handheld devices in general the profits on hardware are plummeting.

Secondly Nintendo lost focus on whats it all about: games and not going whiblywhobly with a controller

No, they won't become irrelevant

Edit: and they haven't lost focus on the games, they still make some of the best games of the industry and make a lot of money from selling them at full price.
