I'm really baffled why Nintendo can't/won't take on BRIC countries well. You would think that they'd have an advantage being a lower-priced competitor with solid portable option

That's strange to exit a huge market so quickly. I mean I know its a small console market, but it has a lot of potential.

BRIC countries aren't big gaming markets though. India and Brazil are small, and China has too many rules and regulations. The only country from those 4 which could potentially be a big market is Russia, but right now their economy isn't doing too well. 

not worth it; they won't sell enough consoles due to the price point. the average citizen in Brazil is much poorer than certain other places in the world where the Wii U is struggling. probably on each system sold they are making virtually no money. it's pointless

True but Brazil is growing and changing and people are getting wealthier. In a few years Nintendo will have to return there. 

I don't understand the Brazilian government's strategy. I mean, I know what they want, trying to force companies to manufacture there, but is it really feasible? Seems like they're just losing the business of many companies completely.

I remember that interview, He wasn't talking about just Brazil. He was referring to South America as a whole. If Nintendo were able to establish a market in some of the neighboring countries, that might make importing tp=o Brazil a little easier. But yes, the Brazillian government makes it nearly impossible for a thrving gaming market to exist there.

Maybe they will drop all of the struggling markets to control costs.

If M$ wasn't so loaded, they would be doing the same.
