Forums - Nintendo - Star Fox is going to be playable at E3 YES!

Relax. It will probably be a "point at that thing and shoot at that thing" all the way through.

I would like to see something else. Like a Mass Effect meets No Mans Sky or something.

A next gen star fox could change that perceptions. Games are much larger now. Nintendo has no time to mess around anymore. Every Wii U exclusive has gotten better and better by the day. Hopefully Miyamoto wont want to disrupt the ascent in the perception of Nintendo as of late.

It wont. At best it will be close to Star Fox 64. Its not a huge franchise, so Nintendo wont pour much money into it. It will be a fun little arcade shooter.

Eventually you will have to move forward. How long until it starts to get stale? What do you do after making bigger prettier version of Star Fox 64?

Just remaking the same game over and over can only work for so long.

I don't get the hate for Assault, it was a classic star fox game with no gimmicks, so why don't alot of people like it??

I'm with you, actually. I thought it was a lot of fun. Single player was great, really captured the arcade feel I loved about 64. Story was cheesy, but it's not like it was much worse than 64. I also liked the characterization more in Assault, though it was a lot different than the previous games. FInally, the multiplayer was the best in the series IMO, I have so many memories of crashing Arwings into my brother as he tried to run off. Good times...

That being said...based on Assault's reception in the fanbase, I'd be very surprised if this game is well-received. It seems like people only want a clone of 64. I really don't mind whatever direction it goes in, just as long as there's no staff fighting and James McCloud isn't revealed to be alive and just wandering for some reason. His bio in Command really annoyed me. Takes the impact away from his 64 appearance...

I would assume it would be playable at E3 considering it's supposed to release this year.

We didnt know when it would launch, all we knew is that it would be coming out sooner than we thought. Infact, it would be before Zelda as well.

I'll just say it...

I'm not a Star Fox fan, I'm a Star Fox 64 fan

Adventures was bad, Assault was decent because the multiplayer was fun.

I do like the characters though, I have some hope that this will be good. Hope it's nothing like Star Fox 64 though because I want a brand new version of Star Fox. It never works when you try to recreate something from 2 decades ago...

I wouldnt mind a blend of space dogfights mixed with tps action involving the whole team. That would be so sick!

Star Fox 64 was a AAA title for its  time period. Nintendo is in a position to make this game just as big as their larger tier titles.

They are, but they probably wont...

Care to make a wager for June? Nintendo has been more tight lipped about Star Fox than any other game, including Zelda and then we found out Zelda was flipping huge. If this game turns out to be big, you're going to put a picture of Starfox 64's banner on your page in rememberance of me. You will rule the day you doubted Fox McCloud.
