You clearly don't know what a fire sale is. You didn't read my post either. Also, XB1 is out of stock by Amazon, it's only third party's selling it (which means it will drop). The fact it is still in the top 20 despite that. This time last year PS4 was #1 and XB1 wasn't even in the top #100 to my knowledge

First: The Xbox One was always in the top 100.

Second: A few day delay is not going to change much, you can still buy it with prime fufilled by Amazon.  That also has zero impact on all the other sourcers putting PS4 on top for the month.

"a sale of goods or assets at a very low price"

Sounds like a fire sale.

hhhmmm...I'm betting PS4. The 3DS has seen a rather sharp decline in sales and the Xbox One is going to have a really hard time being competitive outside of the holidays.

Not really, depends on what Microsoft do. Their exclusives tend to be favoured by US audiences more than Sony's.

But when is the next major Xbox exclusive out? In 2014 the Xbox One had arguably the stronger exclusive lineup and they ended up behind the PS4 for the year. The only reason it was even as close as it ended up being in 2014 was because of how much more agressive MS was with their deals during the holidays. I don't think that situation will repeat itself in 2015.

XB1 exclusive line up was stronger, but all year it was marred by being more expensive than PS4 or on par, with the baggage and negativity of the previous year. Also bar Titanfall, up until the fall they didn't really have that much system selling software.

I can't claim to know what Microsoft or Sony have planned, by MS's fall exclusive line up is looking stronger right now than Sony's, you can thank Halo alone for that. MS don't have much for Q1/Q2, PS4 has some great looking games but none of them are huge brands/franchises. MS will need to strike far earlier than November tho IMO.

I think we can stop here.

Again, can't read. Nobody is even disputing PS4 can be on top in January, but by how much. My momentum comment was mainly talking about December sales yet to come in, and having momentum. Until I see PS4 significantly ahead of XB1 again (PS4 simply being above XB1 doesn't mean you know by how much) I won't say it has momentum, I'll say they're at a stalemate.

I don't remember XB1 being in top 100? Certainly not the years best sellers list, was only just about hovering around #90's early nov, and the AC bundle rocketed it to #12.

Wow, just did some match here, at first it looked like it was going to be an easy win for the 3DS but when you mention it sold 3 Millions this year and keeps going down makes it a bit harder to predict.
But I still think 3DS will get there first. The gap is just too big in my opinion.

Because you have no argument clearly. Fact you had to talk about WW sales shows that. Look at the title. US. If you think Sony have anything bigger in the US than Halo in Q3/Q4. Well you're right, we might as well stop.

To start off some LTD's as of November

3DS: 13.33m
PS4: 5.62m
XB1: 4.9m

3DS:
Reasons for: It has a huge lead of around 8m units
Reasons against: It's past its best in the US (sales are dropping YOY)

PS4:
Reasons for: It sold well all year round.
Reasons against: Currently, XB1 has momentum. Whether this remains is to be seen.

XB1:

Reasons for: Has clawed back some of the lead, has shown it can sell very well in the states.
Reasons against: PS4 can easily take back the lead

In terms of 3DS, whilst it is only 6m (after December) away from 20m, it has also only sold 2.5m - 3m this year in the US. Also like I said before, its best sales are behind it (no, new 3DS is NOT going to revive sales.) Its peak year was its FIRST year and even that was barely above 4m. If sales taper off even more this year it may not even potentially hit 20m.

PS4 Vs XB1 is really anyones guess and depends entirely on what MS and Sony do. They're almost neck and neck and are both popular in the states. Even selling the average 5m a year tho we're talking mid 2017 for both.

Everytime,so certain! You're dooming it before it releases....What?New3ds/xl stopped a 50% decline and passed dsi sales in the same time frame in Japan,ok by 7k,but it is worth to mention it(1.238M vs 1.231M)!Who expected that?

And why you are ignoring outright the big advantage of it being bought heavily from the old 3ds owners...? Wait for its release ,its perfomance and then you tell if it can revive 3DS sales or not, because telling it now is preconception...

Worldwide install base means more exclusive from other markets. More exclusives means more sales.

Sony is going to counter Microsoft hard next holidays. They will be prepared. Having momentum implies you still have it, which we can easily see is not the case.

Uh huh, PS4 is not gonna get all these big exclusives from third parties, SFV is an anomoly (and of course, Japanese, would never happen from a western dev unless they paid). MS backed into a corner means cheque book opens. Case in point, Tomb Raider. If you're really talking about which one will get more meaningful third party exclusives you're betting on the wrong horse.

Uh huh #2, just like it was a sure bet PS4 was gonna destroy XB1 in the states this holiday just a few months ago. You have no idea what either have planned.

Again, still not reading are you.

Thought you were done after you couldn't argue why Sony had a stronger line up in Q3/Q4? :)

I think you first need to create a thread asking if 3DS will reach 20 million globally in the USA.

In all seriousness I think it would be a pretty unlikely feat for 3DS's lead to be hauled in. I think PS4 and Xb one will eat into that lead, but 3DS will pip them. 25 million is the target I would speculate to be reached first by either Xb one or PS4.

At this stage I think PS4 will hold onto a fairly narrow lead int he USA over Xb one; with the proviso that MS behaves "normally" when it comes to Xb one pricing. If MS goes on another price slashing binge relatively early in the year then Xb one can become the generation leader.
