Forums - Sony - Should I have bought a PS4 if...

You should keep waiting, you stated in the op you are satisfied with your PS3, and little PS4 games appeal to you, so just wait a little longer until more games you like come out

If you're in doubt, then you probably shouldn't get it.

Why do you feel the need to get one if there is literally no need for you to get one?

Because everyone and their dead grandmoms are getting one. Peer pressure is a BETCH!

Another reason why I considered it is maybe everyone is getting it for a reason I don't know. Hence why I wanted to be educated (Like a MAJOR exclusive for it not going to be on PS3). Another thing I wanted to know is if I can play 3D movies on the PS4 if I have a 3D TV. I bought a PS3 initially ONLY as a Blu-Ray player but when my X360 RRODed on me it was a god send...

Make a price list of what price you put on peer pressure depending on the number and status of those people. Compare the price with that of a PS4.^^

But let me tell you this. If you enjoy your PS3 there will definitely come a time when there are games you can only play on PS4. A new console is an investment and if you had fun with the previous console you will definitely get your fun out of the new one. For me it doesn't really matter if I buy a console at launch or a bit later for 100 bucks less. Because 100 bucks is a tiny fraction of what the console and its games will cost me lifetime. If you have the money, buy it now. Even if it gathers dust, the time will definitely come where you will have to use it and then it's already there and ready.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yea i wouldnt buy it before it has stuff you want or you will just end up being letdown. Its new and its library isnt there yet. Once some games come out that interest you then hop on it.

EVERY GAMERS WORST NIGHTMARE...THE TANGLING CABLES MONSTER!

       Coffee is for closers!

The performance boost of the PS4 over 3 is worth the upgrade IMO - the same games may be releasing on PS3, but if Shadow of Mordor is any indication, devs are probably going to put far more effort into the next gen versions. 2015 is when the gen will transition I think, from current to last and next to current.

Nah the PS3 is still the better machine.

Sounds like you should wait and theres nothing wrong with that.

I seriously don't how you aren't interested in ONE game on it. There's no man's sky if you like exploration, the order if you like cool atmosphere, MGSV, Bloodborne if you like fantasy, Uncharted if you like funny action-adventure, and many more third parties I've not mention, and probably a few exclusives I forgot to mention. If none of these interest you, I don't know what you play.

You...just listed four games, two of which are entirely unproven, all four of which aren't out yet.

And one of the two from proven franchises will be on his PS3.

My sentiments exactly.

If no games appeal to you right now (or well a few weeks ago) then just wait until the end of this year or 2016. There should be plenty of exclusives by then and you'll definitely be able to find it for $300 or cheaper. Games from last year like LBP 3, inFamous, TLOU:R and Driveclub might also be pretty cheap by then too.

I think there would've been at least one game that appealed to you on the PS4 in the near coming months and that's Final Fantasy Type-0 ...

I realize that it's a PSP port but the PS4 and XB1 version's are the only one's getting localized so I would've factored that in your decision for purchasing the PS4 ...
