Uh, how?
They were trying to get it to sell over 1m and here were are with it just now passing 500k

so this kind of stuff happens over time. not even hyrule warriors has hit a million (it will soon). same with wind waker hd--didn't hit even 800k first year, now comfortably over 1m. same with bayonetta 2. it's not a matter of faith, just look at the weekly numbers. it's outselling the ps3 and 360 original on a week by week basis by a lot.

540k in 2 months and a week is nothing to sneer at. without counting digital sales (reggie says around 10%...).

It should be outselling the original, it was released 5-6 years ago on two consoles that are now on the road out.

at the comparable period after release. i don't mean right now... i guess "week by week" was confusing. but i mean, if you compare the first ten weeks of bayonetta on ps360 to the first ten weeks of bayonetta 2 on wii u, wii u is handily outselling both. on an install base that is 1/8 to 1/10 that of either ps3 or 360.

Hopefully it does make it to a million. It really deserves it.

#operationplatinum is not a succes, Bayonetta 2 would be the success.
I mean shit can I claim a successful #operation if I make one for Zelda U selling 5m and it does??
And I doubt it was their twitter campaigns that got the game noticed by many, the high review scores and GOTY nominations and wins would have done that.

It´s hard to tell either way without the digital numbers....

Bayonetta 2 probably already hit the 600k mark including digital sales. (540k physical copies by 20 December?)
W101 is a mistery...... as it was in the MK8 promotion for Europe, a lot more people has this game than sales suggest.

1 million+ for bayonetta 2 isn't really a success, especially after the month it launched.
Tho it's nintendo it affects really, platinum make their money regardless whether it says 1, 100 or 1 million units

Actually, it's overtracked in the US, but is heavely UNDERTRACKED in Europe! 60,000 sold by November in France, possibly similar numbers in Germany, and was a #1 in Amazon Spain, is obviously on Spot, may reach 1 million by 2016.

Why do people keep mistaken the France number? 60k was a projection for the end of the year not November numbers. But yeah Bayo 2 is massively overtracked in the US it's at 95k at the end of November.

Wasn't the goal--originally at least--one million sold through by the end of the year, not simply one million sold lifetime?

it could be a success if more people would buy the wiiu if the price would be lower, a lot of core gamers want to play it

As always there were some crazy predictions regarding Bayo2 sales, but if I remember correctly most people (including myself) predicted that it would sell something like 700-800k ltd. I'll stick with my prediction. As for TW101...those are bad sales, no matter how you look at it, and I don't think you should consider the digital copies given for free with MK8 imho.

proof beyond a neogaf post would be wonderful. it's too bad there isn't any, just repeating sth ad nauseam doesn't make it true. as for the france numbers, they were a projection based on higher-than-expected sales there, fact is it's at 30k in france and if the official projections are to be believed (smash made the projections made in the same interview, btw, even tho smash is not huge in europe) it's already at 60k+ right now.

it's a purposely obtuse title, as i say in the op. you know, just for fun.
