Forums - Sales - Lucky Number 7: Xbox One to be 7th best selling system of all time (50.5m to go)

Will XB1 outsell the NES?

Yes 28 37.33%

No 47 62.67%

Total:75

I feel like the XBO will have a shorter life than X360/PS3 so id say #7 will be about right

I think it will end up just shy of NES

I agree, as will PS4.  Something people seem to be ignoring on this site.  A global early launch in markets that are now more mature means one sure fire thing.... shorter legs.

Not to mention no Kinect/Move to give them a kick up the backside (think VR will come early and won't be the same).

I see the typical 5 year gen.

Considering Xbox 360 sold somewhere around 83 million, yes, the Xbox One can and likely will outsell the NES. We're essentially 1 year into a 7-10 year window and haven't see those magic price points like $299, which will certainly come within 2 years.

50.5m to go?It's probably more, adjusting down is on the way...;)

Baseless.

No!It isn't,I can even prove it but I will expect the week ending on 28th dec to say you how much overtracked finally is...(In a specific territory...) ;)

Updated the OP, at least it'll be more interesting if it gets close to it, much more difficult task.

I for one I'm not so certain it can get so far past 50 million. The 360s lifecycle was abnormally long and also experienced a considerable 2nd wind because of Kinect. With a shorter lifecycle and no magical gimmick to draw people in, I don't know how it ends up outpacing 360 -- particularly as the PS4 dominates most of the marketshare.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It won't be easy, It should end up selling about the same.

so you already know by how much and where but wont tell us?

Firstly,I want the last week of december to calculate the final number!I need your help, which is the first week of november and which is the last week of december for GFK(See,I Just gave you a clue!):P

60m is around what I expect. It could do more, but MS needs to first realize that the X1 only sells well when its cheaper than the PS4.

do you mean npd?

Someone helped me!:PGFK!The european tracker.:PI didn't know if It considers that the week ending on 3th of January is a part of December like NPD and something else.:P

However,If you look at the front page,xb1 has been adjusted down by 500k.;) After seeing ps4 big overtrackment I was sure that xb1 is similarly overtracked, this was is to guess, pretty obvious...

The overtracking that I had found out it was in UK,xb1 had 74k more sales from ps4 nov+dec here(without the last week of december so the overtrackement would be quite bigger)while we had been informed yesterday, that ps4 outsold xb1 nov & dec combined!;)
