i doubt the x1 will reach 10 million in japan, it will reach probably 160k in its 3 years. Giving that 24k was at launch 50k is a very very low number for 5 months

It's not at 50k. It will probably get there in about 2 months
MS will have to do what they did with Tales of Vesperia, or else they'll never reach 1mil.

sales are sales. A 1000 a week is still 400k in revenue + software sales. even 200 a week is still around 100k revenue a week, there are countries where sales of those numbers are a success. even if it only sells 100k lifetime that is still 50 million+ in revenue

The new tales is coming out exclusively for the ps3. It might get a ps4 port later this year and the sequel will surely be ps4 exclusive
MS shoud just push more Kinect in Japan, hiring a few local studios to make Japanese style games for it, as Kinect makes XBOne different, so, if the Japanese don't like its current offer, a new games offer, targeted at them and not easily feasible on other platforms could be the key to carve a more comfortable and profitable niche there.
Anyway, about current viability of XBOne in Japan, MS surely hires 3rd parties for shipments, and it also produces and sells other HW, both XB related and not, so, if small single person enterprises can thrive this way selling stuff on eBay, even a 200 units/week plus all the other HW it ships every week should grant it shipping costs per unit on the level of what mid-sized enterprises can achieve, surely higher than Sony, Ninty or others that are big there, but surely not horrible, either.
