I've pulled out some of the obvious fixes and outright bugs, since fixing those isn't really a suggestion. :) They'll be maintained on our internal bug list. I've also reorganized the suggestions into the following list, which will also be discussed and maintained internally (as ioi's "to-do" list ;) ). The mods will also be picking a "best" or "favorite" suggestion from the list over the next week.

Not sure what these mean:
- Chart displaying company's successes/failures over the years ?
- Option when viewing charts to only see every XXth date ?

Site data/charts:
- Option to view last 4 weeks' average for a console/game (in a chart/graph)
- Add chart for worldwide yearly sales (and any other weekly/monthly/yearly combo missing)
- Auto-load the chart of your country of origin on the homepage
- Break down NA charts into its component countries, like Others
- Notice/posting log for any data/numbers changes
- Show market share for each region in the same format (somewhere) as the worldwide graph on the front page

General site interface:
- Community search users/mods by post-count and rank/title
- Homepage display for how many/which mods are online
- Display max number of users online at once on VGC (members/guests/total)
- Display in each post/somewhere how long you've been online for this session
- Allow users to submit Q&As for the poll of the week
- Ability to view only threads created
- Mark threads as favorites and display list of shortcuts to them
- Site clock on the home page since we're all going by different times ?
- Add a forum/other function to buy/trade games amongst the userbase
- From Hot Topics, be able to view either first page or last page directly (currently defaults to last page on hot topics, first page on own forum posts)
- Translate VGC into other languages (charts, UI, news)
- Page dedicated to memorable users

Forum:
- Browser window title shows thread title instead of just VGChartz.com
- Show poster's location information in forum posts
- Assemble memorable threads to revisit quirkiest discussions
- Ability to edit titles of created forum topics (or allow only mods to do it)
- Ability to rate threads (if above a certain post count)
- Display how many/which users/guests are viewing the thread you're currently viewing
- Ability to link to specific posts instead of just to the whole thread (already in place, but make easier)
- When clicking on a thread in recent posts, skip directly to your most recent post
- When submitting a game, let everything be blank, and not allow submission until fields are entered (cuts down incorrect submissions)

Profile:
- Show friends in profile that are online, and/or display in order of last login
- Notifications for quotes or messages on wall (or replies to a started topic)
- Add some functionality for friends
- Store in profile gamertags/IDs/friend codes, synch up with friends list?
- Expand "My Games" to include ability to add consoles
- Ability to report a profile, similar to a thread

Games database:
- Display who added game to database, as well as who updated it last
- XX number of posts required to rate games, reset ratings
- Ability to add consoles to the database (with min post count)
- Ability to suggest a merging of games for duplicate entries / report a game
- A calendar that lists release dates for games
- Display metacritic/GR average for games instead of/in addition to user ratings
- Disable ability to rate games with a future release date
- Link multi-platform games to games DB entries for the other versions
- Require a game be owned in collection before user can rate it
- Separate game submission approval from moderator jobs

Prediction league:
- Show preliminary results
- Show how much was made on each bet
- View how much a user has made in total on all bets
- Allow results to be sorted by Payout, Accuracy, or Amount Bet

After looking at the database, I noticed something that furrows my brow...

There is no symbols for the downloadable platforms!!!

But really, it would be nice just to have perhaps a light blue "VC" for the Virtual Console, a red "PSN" for the Playstation Network, and a light green "XBL" for Xbox Live Arcade. Two minutes of work, right?

Also, since we have these new platforms, and Stickball has data for XBL downloads, perhaps it would be possible to start a "Downloadables" chart. It would probably only include XBL data at this point, but could include PSN and VC data in the future.

I think the icons should at least be focused on if nothing else.

Another suggestion is that in the Others chart, the countries should be order from most to least hardware sold.

It looks like Hot topics list now has the main link directing you to the first page instead of the last.

I think a good addition to this would be to make it so that there was also a link to the last page, which would fit really nicely if you made the part that told you the number of the replies be a link to that.

For instance, if this topic showed up, it would have "All site suggestions here" as a hyperlink that took you to the first page of this thread, and underneath, it would have ## replies, started by: _XbrawlX_, make it so the "## replies" part is turned into a hyperlink that takes you to the last page of the thread.

I'm making a seperate post instead of going back and editing my previous post because this is an entirely different suggestion:

When people are banned, make it so they can still log in, but just not post. It'd make it much more obvious to the person who got banned, as when it happened to me, I thought something had gone wrong with the site and it didn't occure to me until a day later to look at my profile, which was the only way I found out I was banned. What made this inconvenient was that I couldn't access my recent posts, so it made it a lot more troublesome to follow the threads I had posted in.

Furthermore, refer to temporary bans as something else. Heck, even call it a "time out" or "penalized" or something. Banning has always had an implication of permanence, and so seeing someone get "banned" people think "well, everyone is just getting banned out of hand and for stupid reasons" but really it's not, it's just being used as a time out until that person cools off at which point they're allowed back, but that just makes people think "well, gee, people who get banned still end up back here in just a day or two, bans aren't being respected at all, so why should I respect it?"

Maybe that's just me, but that's the impression i get from from listening to other people talk, and what my initial impression of the matter had been.

Another thing that's really urgent:

Release date slots need to go back farther than 1986. It's becoming a pain in the butt to update NES games.
