Well... Until psnow prices become reasonable, I doubt a lot of people will care about it

45 dollar subscription for three months isn't reasonable?

I see it as Sony trying to be innovative and trying to find new ways to expand the video game industry. It may or may not work but all business takes risk.

If anything I don't think Nintendo and MS aren't doing enough (well MS has PC so mainly Nintendo?) Isn't there alot of people that wanted/still wants Nintendo games to go on iOS and Android?

Exactly, nintendo could easily port some of their old classics to ios and android.

Remind people what fun nintendo games can provide.

Maybe they play pokemon gold, get feelings of nostalgia, then during the game an ad pops up saying "Pokemon X Now available on 3DS"

It's a brill idea, wont hurt there business even if it doesnt cause people to buy the hardware, and it's extra cash from a market that otherwise wouldnt be giving them a penny.

And its better nintendo provide official ports or emulators rather than pirates providing them and making money off nintendos ip

People pay similar amount of money/month for Gamefly, and this offers a lot more than that. Once they have cheaper/longer tiers and more games, barriers to entry drop to broadband speeds.

Well... Gamefly has a subscription service for $16/month for one game which u can send back anytime and get another one or $22/month for 2 games at a time. The benefits of it is that you dont have to rely on the internet connection to ensure your experience which will be flaky for a lot of people who don't have good internet connection.

Now, I know that psnow has a subscription service now but do we know the prices? And I think relying on the Internet is gonna be a big issue for a lot of people imo

Edit: nvm, didnt notice the other thread loll. But still, internet connection issue non the less

People who use GameFly are generally interested in playing what is new and then discarding them once craze is over.  They clear out games that get to be six months to a year old in sales.  This seems the inversion of that with older titles being the focus with limited newer games.

It will be very interesting if PSNow takes off or not.

PSNow sub is $20/month or $45 for 3-months and grants unlimited access to all PSNow titles.

Gamefly is great, but it requires waiting 2 days between games and game availability. This service is a very good value since the games are granted instantly. Don't like the one you're playing, then just instantly swap to something else with zero wait time.

Some people in here are complaining about the slection of titles being older, but they must understand that unlike us the general population does not play games and blow through them in a week or less, plus they tend to play a little and hop to something else. Many people have not played many of the titles available on the service and for the price the value is great. I hear these games also come with all DLC added in.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Playstation is still all about the ps4. Everything else is a miserable failure. All their other products are failures. No one is buying psnow, vitas, playstation tv or whatever. They need to KISS (keep it simple stupid) and move on. The ps4 is a huge success. Focus on that and trim the fat.

My thoughts exactly.  I don't think itll hurt the Nintendo name if they released their own official emulators for iOS and Android and how harmful could it be to release games that are like +10yrs old.  I'm sure there are many people that would rather pay for an official nintendo emulator than to download a free one.  It'll give phone users a taste of Nintendo and if they want the full deal then they'll purchase a Nintendo console.  That's how I see it with PSNow and how people can game on phones too where they'll get the Sony experience but if/when they're ready to try out the full Sony experience then they can purchase the PS4.  Worst case Sony/Nintendo made a few extra bucks elsewhere that's not from their console.

Well, I do understand the benefits of psnow and what it could potentically be capable of but my issue with it is that it heavely relies on "third party" in order to give its experience and I really do not think that a lot of people's internet speed is that good in order to do so. If we look at netflix's data for example (this is just streaming movies btw, netflix doesn't need to worry about input or anything like that which psnow does) we see that the "fastest" average speeds for the popular isps in the US is ~3mbps. Now, according to Netflix's stream quality recommendation list, 3mbps = SD quality like 360p/480p... In order to get HD 720p quality, you need at least 5mbps. So you can kinda see where my issue is coming from because yes, psnow has benefits but idk if most people will use it just due to their internet limitation. If it takes off, great! But I feel as though it has a lovely hill to climb before it can do that
