I see it as Sony trying to be innovative and trying to find new ways to expand the video game industry. It may or may not work but all business takes risk.
If anything I don't think Nintendo and MS aren't doing enough (well MS has PC so mainly Nintendo?) Isn't there alot of people that wanted/still wants Nintendo games to go on iOS and Android?
