I was just thinking

Sony's strategy this gen is to try and get money off all gamers, not only their fanbase, but also nintendo's, xbox's and PC's.

Nintendo only make software and services aimed at those who own a Wii u or 3DS.
They dont make iphone games, they dont sell a service to those who dont own one of there devices.

Microsoft's gamign division xboxey makes software for their console, and in very few cases, pc market.
Otherwise a lot of there products are aimed to those who will buy an xbox.

Sony, this gen have dun wun. PS Now to tempt those (very few, I hear) people who own a TV to purchase their games. See, anyone who owns a PC, xbox, wii u or ipad (eventually i hope) and doesnt want to purchase a PS4 will be able to play some of their games. ala Give them money.
Most people will have some way to play it, whether it be on their PC, TV or phone/tablet. They are taking money from another market. It's a sick idea.

Also there's PSVita TV (or whatever its called now) for those who really have no access. vitatv isnt really targeted towards ps4 gamers, it's targeted towards the non ps4 market to have a device that can steal yo money in exchange for services.

Their hope is that once mr. xx_xboxg4m3r_sk1llzxAoT plays uncharted 1,2,3 on his PC, that he loved it so much he goes out and buys a ps4 for uncharted 4 eventually. If not, they still made money off a person who would have never been in their target market initially. Clever!

And im talking about only targeting anyone who plays games, but may not own the primary gaming devices each of the three make.

I think it's very interesting to see services like PS Now on Samsung TVs (considering they are rivals on the TV front).

At this rate the service is slowly going to crawl up to every other device (which is good if you ask me).

Well... Until psnow prices become reasonable, I doubt a lot of people will care about it

I think Sony's TV competition are those budget sub £100 TV's you find in the mingy dark corner of currys lol, not samsung

Pretty much. And until the library gets about ten times larger.

They are reasonable tbh. A lot of people can complete several games in 3 months. To be able to play like 8-10 PS exclusives in 3 months for $45 I reckon is extremely reasonable, it is a subscription service after all.

Plus it has to be more expensive than the likes of netflix because an average movie is 2 hours or less.
An average game is 10+ hours.

You'll be using up more bandwidth gaming than when streaming movies and for longer periods, so that extra cost is justified.

People pay similar amount of money/month for Gamefly, and this offers a lot more than that. Once they have cheaper/longer tiers and more games, barriers to entry drop to broadband speeds.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

Psnow price is ridiculous..they are not fooling anyone.

Praise the One.

Plus you have to justify the cost of sony's back-end streaming servers who are doing the grunt of the task, the cost is high for them to stream so that few extra dollars vs netflix's 2 hour long movies w/ low bandwidth or gamefly w/ 0 bandwidth is justified.
