Forums - Nintendo - Should Kirby and the Rainbow Curse be a boxed retail release?

?

Yep 72 94.74%

No, it should be digital only 4 5.26%

Total:76

Has the content of the regular 3DS game. So guess what? Yes.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Why shouldnt any game be released also in physical form?

I have mixed views tbh.
On one hand its no different to the DS game getting a boxed version, but on the other hand the wii u versions price is more than i want to pay.....
Plus since its a Nintendo game it wont really decrease in price much.

Eh tbh it looks like an eShop title like Dillion, Pullblox etc. but being a recognised Nintendo IP they may aswell put it out on shelfs. They can charge more and get more attention on the system in stores.

This makes me really wonder how well flagship Nintendo games do in their digital form, at least compared to retail.

Because I can imagine Kirby doing pretty shallow as a digital-only release.

Yes. Wii U needs as many games as it can get. Hopefully the game isn't short though.

Sure... Everything is going to be alright as long as the game will be worth the price!

yes of course!

Switch!!!

This actually got me thinking, what if Nintendo went full digital next gen?

They have talked about having strong digital sales for many games and most 1st party releases have very small file sizes (3DS usually under 2gb with many under 1gb, Wii U usually under 8gb with many under 4gb).

I personally see their next handheld being a slight bump over Vita in terms of power and the next console just a slight bump over Wii U similar to GC to Wii so I'm not seeing file sizes for games increasing by a large amount.

The handheld has 32gb internal storage with the console having 128gb with the option for capacity storage. Is this feasible?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

As stated before, they need games at retail.
