I can only assume the same people thinking Xbox sales are suddenly going to drop dead after selling 6m in under 4 months were the same people who predicted Wii U would continually dominate after MK8 gave it a 5k advantage for a few weeks -_-

With the line up this year and the momentum from the holiday (most people buy consoles their friends have), there is no way X1 sales going to be ''terrible''. Its simply not happening.

And those who seem to think Xbox Brand exists simply loose money, they're business so automatically no. Sure at some point Microsoft was more concerned with establishing a longterm brand then gaining profits from said brand but I'm pretty sure that phase ended during at somepoint during the 360 life.

Not all...

Myself, CGIQuality and several others never expected WiiU to dominate (how is 50-100k weekly dominate anything???).

Dominate over the Xbox One, which was selling 5-10k less on weekly basis for a month or 2. And By dominate I mean it in the literally sense(to be above/overpower), I'm not using it for dramatic effect.

Well, I say that is at best outselling... and only nintendo fans expected it to be over X1 (as only MS fans expected it to outsell PS4 before anouncements)... but that is another thing.

I would advise you not to head down the road of insulting anyone.

Now on topic: This thread was creating to state facts - the system was back at its $399.99 price point (as was predicted). I'm not sure why you're approaching it the way you are, as I hardly see anyone in here showing any sort of "shock".

I have not insulted anyone. Nor was anyone attacked. I was pointing out the flawed logic many have held by many thinking the price would magically stay the same throughout.

Shock is an exaggeration, yes. However no one at all should have expected it to stay the price it was given what MS had said earlier.

There wasn't a need for you to say: "Too many fucking idiots live in this world...They said it was going to happen." Why post that if it wasn't meant for anyone here? And beyond that, it doesn't make people "idiots" for having a belief that was plausible, even if it was unlikely.

Not only plausible but could be said almost 50/50 chance that MS was bleffing on it being temporary to entice sales... so there was no idiocy in thinking one way or the other... there just wasn't much reason for MS to keep the price down since MS seems to really focus on Holidays.

Just felt like saying it XD gotta test the waters somewhere. Anyway, people aren't idiots for thinking it will eventually happen ( as it inevitably will go down in price someday). The ones who I would consider it such are those who whole heartedly believed it would stay the same price as it is now despite the exact opposite being stated by the direct source -which gets annoying after you see hundreds of people thinking it to stay $349 or creating loopholes as to why it will stay. Not just this website but many others. The comment was more of a general distaste of many falsely held beliefs from many various sources.

With the line up this year

What line up?

You should see LordLich's thread on the PS4's 2015 schedule. Do note that he only listed retail releases and yet, the PS4 still has a huge leg up on the X1.

And the same third party titles also sold Xbox's.

Nobody said it was going to drop to Wii U levels. At least not me.

I can't wait til the sales data for the first week of the price going back up. We should have an idea how badly this will affect xbone sales.

And that would be a lot of people here - hence my advice to you. Nobody was an "idiot" for believing what they believed.

Who you or I consider an idiot are obviously different things, however that is not the main point here, is it? I will agree to disagree. Now if you want to continue this we can somewhere else. But this has started to derail. Anyway, I'm wondering how much momentum will keep from the holidays.

Theres nothing great coming for a while anyway, so who cares? Personally by E3 I see 349 or maybe even 299 in the bag... but we'll wait and see.

Uh-oh, looks like Amazon sold out of the $329 XB1s. Now their selling it at $348 from other suppliers. And one in particular only has 2 systems left in stock. Act fast, or the price will continue to climb until it hits $399.

Awww

It will surely just be temporary though. I can't see them keeping it at that price much longer.

Yep....if Sony keeps beating them up like they are they'll drop the price come September.
