I think that MS temporary pricecut+ deals was a double edged sword if you know what i mean.

Yes it helped Xone in USA for two inportant months ,but at the same time,it changed the consumer's perception about Xone's "value"(i don't know if that is the right word sorry :P).

In other words,Consumers don't think 399 is a fair price to pay for Xone anymore.

Not only that, but it also encourages consumers wait for next holiday season to splurge their money on an X1. Why get one now when you know that there will be a much, much better deal if you wait?

At least it still comes with 2 games for the same price as a ps4. #13 now vs #8. I wonder if things will stabilise or if the gap will get bigger. The next question is how long before ms slash the price again.

How is that possible that xb1 is dropping when it is still cheaper and with 2 games, really insane

Its gradually dropping because its gradually raising in price. Those 2 things kinda go hand in hand.

It's science lol.

So AC bundle is out of stock, has been for a while. What Xb one sku does Amazon have in stock at the moment, or is everything 3rd parties for the time being until they get a new shipment of Vanilla Xb one's in. Or is ACU still going to be the base sku for a while?

It's in stock. You have go to the 168 new link. Amazon advertises the cheapest price on their site first. It's on page 8- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00NFXON1Q/ref=olp_page_8?ie=UTF8&condition=new&startIndex=70

Oh right, thanks for that. Sometimes I just dont get Amazon. Seems dumb to be showing a 3rd party's stock on the front page not your own stock. Still maybe the commission Amazon gets from 3rd party sales makes it wothwhile pushing these 3ed party stocks. Makes me wonder if some of Xb one's massive sales were to 3rd parties who are looking to re-sell "brand new" Xb ones at a $20-$50 profit, while remaining under the official MSRP. It is a thing with temporary price cuts, you will get speculators hoping to turn a quick profit. Buy up 1000 Xb ones at $329-$349. Re-sell them for $370-380. Make an average profit of $30 per console and voila, $30K in you pocket for very little effort, even if it takes a few months to move the stock. Xb one is still selling at a decent enough rate for these speculators to move units.

So the widely predicted pattern of PS4 selling more than Xb one at the same price is being proven true. No doubt MS wanted to test this theory to see how much lower, and whether there could be a slight rebound in a few months. A price hike will have an immediately depressing effect on sales, but as time passes sales can rebound a bit, if the product is reasonably popular. However I think it won't be too long before there is an official and permanent $50 price cut, and possibly a further $50 price cut for Holiday 2015, possibly a permanent one too. Though MS might quite like this 2 month holiday price cut tactic. PS4 will be at $350 holiday 2015 I reckon, and Xb one will need an official $299 price tag to be able to compete.

so...this might sound like a dumb question...but how to you get to the monthly chart from amazon? I can only ever find the yearly, and hourly charts.

xb1 cant outsell ps4 with only a 50 cut they need 100 or a 50 with 2 games

even at 330-350 and two games and ps4 at 400 sales where pretty close as seen after christmas ps4 was able to stay close

i believe ms know this thats why they didnt keep the 350 price it would still get beat or be close from jan - oct while costing MS money so they'll have a meaningful cut later in the yr when HW cost get even lower

i believe ms will go to 300 this yr permanent sometime in the summer of fall while ps4 goes to 350 during the fall in time for uc4, sales should be close during the holidays but xb1 will have the edge

wow why didn't you tell us your 30k theory 2 months ago. I would have bought 1000 x1's at $329!

for sales like that they won't count in NPD because MS has only sold them twice. So effectively moving them forward on the official charts. Jan NPD will be interesting.

there is pretty much no doubt that ms will drop to $300 this year. only problem is that Sony is more than likely going to do the same. And with how well the have sold so far, the uptick in PS+ stubs, the amount of games they are selling, Sony is in a damn fine position to drop the price. And the would want to do a meaningful price drop.

Real question is when will ms drop its price? if the leave it at $400 with the kinda months the PS4 is about to start having from January through to March, they will get slaughtered. if they officially drop it by $50 around e3, then they put themselves in a position where they may have to drop again for Xmas, cause I don't think a $350 XB1 with no free game will sell better than a PS4.

with their evolve and witcher partnerships, I suspect that while leaving it at $400 for now they would bundle those games with the XB1. as it stands, they basically have to bundle a game with the XB1 for it to at least sell as well as the PS4.

Go to the yearly (2015) and you will have this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2015/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_cal_mo

Simply add the month after the year in the link, with a "-" between them, here, looks how the link is now:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2015-01/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_cal_mo

The same to get the weekly, simply add the day of the week after the month (this one you have to know which day it consider to change the weeks, but just go trying random numbers until you get it right and them is just keep adding 7 until that month end), as here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2015-01-05/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_cal_mo

Thanks! That seems like a pretty round-about way of doing it haha. It's almost like a cheat.
