It's in stock. You have go to the 168 new link. Amazon advertises the cheapest price on their site first. It's on page 8- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00NFXON1Q/ref=olp_page_8?ie=UTF8&condition=new&startIndex=70 |
Oh right, thanks for that. Sometimes I just dont get Amazon. Seems dumb to be showing a 3rd party's stock on the front page not your own stock. Still maybe the commission Amazon gets from 3rd party sales makes it wothwhile pushing these 3ed party stocks. Makes me wonder if some of Xb one's massive sales were to 3rd parties who are looking to re-sell "brand new" Xb ones at a $20-$50 profit, while remaining under the official MSRP. It is a thing with temporary price cuts, you will get speculators hoping to turn a quick profit. Buy up 1000 Xb ones at $329-$349. Re-sell them for $370-380. Make an average profit of $30 per console and voila, $30K in you pocket for very little effort, even if it takes a few months to move the stock. Xb one is still selling at a decent enough rate for these speculators to move units.
So the widely predicted pattern of PS4 selling more than Xb one at the same price is being proven true. No doubt MS wanted to test this theory to see how much lower, and whether there could be a slight rebound in a few months. A price hike will have an immediately depressing effect on sales, but as time passes sales can rebound a bit, if the product is reasonably popular. However I think it won't be too long before there is an official and permanent $50 price cut, and possibly a further $50 price cut for Holiday 2015, possibly a permanent one too. Though MS might quite like this 2 month holiday price cut tactic. PS4 will be at $350 holiday 2015 I reckon, and Xb one will need an official $299 price tag to be able to compete.
