It looks like an amazing game. One of the games that makes the X1 significantly more attractive than I initially thought it would be.

I was saying bargain, myself until actually played it. Holy hell am I having fun.

LOL I love how all the Sony fanboys (including the owner of this thread) are going on about Sunset Overdrive flopping and it would've sold better on Ps4 etc. That's Sony's own fault and arrogance for trying to have the rights/ownership to 100% of the game.

The game sold fine. vgchartz doesn't include digital numbers and arn't accurate anyway.
Sony fanboys are just mad that Sunset Overdrive is the best exclusive of 2014 and xbox has the best games lol

It wouldn't have been niche on PS4.

It's possible but we won't know.

Infamous is on the two million sellers list and its at least close enough to that genre, and Knack sold 1.27 M. Yeah...the game would've sold on a Sony platform. If Knack could sell...so could Sunset. Sony's fanbase this gen buys a wider variety of games in larger amounts. Even one million would've sufficed. In all truth and fact any new IP from Insomniac should be multiplat if it isnt exclusive to Sony.

Well Knack bundled its way to a 1+ million. The Japanese numbers weren't even physical copies.

Multiplat would have been idle, but maybe Insomniac couldn't find a publisher willing to fund the game they wanted to make and let them keep the IP. MS took the risk and that's why they got the exclusive.

It might not be a big hit, but it can be a million seller. Also, I imagine Insomniac was given the option of a PC port to make extra profit.

This has to be a joke. Apparently you haven't learned about last gen how much depending on third party helped Microsoft once Sony's first and second party library started growing. This gen their third party exclusives will be even larger since they are at almost 50% marketshare. Seriously...just stop. If Microsoft hadn't acquired other peoples games they would not be able to compete. Any true gamer will play games where good ones reside. Im one of the lucky ones who got to exprience Sunset Overdrive and you're damn right that Sony was arrogant for not funding the game, but Insomniacs games sell better on a Sony platform and if not Sony then spread out amongst all of the platforms. Stop making this into a fanboys war because this post is about being thankful that its here and its extremely fun. If you don't like the reality of the situation then move on.

There is nothing wrong with bundling, its business. Super Mario wouldn't have become as big as it was in the 80's and 90's without bundling. MS took the risk but they knew Insomniac was a great developer even though they aren't a top tier developer and their games could fill their ranks in the same way they filled Sony's ranks in the past. Unlike Sony, Microsoft cannot creatively afford to replace them with their internal devs. Sony creatively can even though they cannot outspend Microsoft.

That shouldn't take too long. LOL That game is going to drop in price faster than Dead Rising 3 and Dead Rising 3 is still $50 new at Gamestop.

Dead Rising 3 is a pretty good value at $50 since all the new copies now include most of the DLC which is a $30 dollar value by itself.

Dead Rising 3 is a good game, but personally this game is much better. Far more refined and quality development, writing and love. It matches its intent.

As far as fun factor goes Dead Rising 3 is the best one in the franchise the first one still has the best story.  Still not all the way done with it yet since I still have to beat it on Nightmare mode and I will probably buy the season pass once its $15 dollars or less.  Already bought the Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha which was a bit on the short side but still $10 dollars well spend.

Didn't you pick up the season pass in the daily deal? It was down to £7.50 or there about.

I didn't say there is anything wrong with bundling. Obviously a game that bundled its way to a million doesn't deserve the same praise of sales as a million seller with little or no bundling. That's just common sense.

Mario would have been a hit even without bundling. Bundling isn't going to make the masses care about Knack.

Sony is also very reliant on 3rd parties, which is why they just money hatted Street Fighter and relying on From Software for Bloodborne. Sony makes good games but I wouldn't call them creative. Their last hit was a survial horror zombie game, that's very low risk and hardly creative. Driveclub also not a great example of creativity.

I should be getting my Xbox One Sunset Overdrive bundle delivered today... I'll be completely honest, it was the Sunset Overdrive trailer at E3 that originally made me think of getting an Xbox One this a holiday rather than waiting until Halo 5. That may just be more because it had a particularly good trailer rather than because the game itself is particularly good (I'll wait and see whether it turns out to be great when I play it), and it was the Halo MCC collection that made the console more of a feasible buy for me this early (Sunset Overdrive could always be picked up a year or so later when I got the console), but Sunset Overdrive just really stood out as an original, fun looking game. Other great looking multiplats like Far Cry 4 were high on my list, despite not being enough in themselves to make me upgrade to a new system for a better version, but it was the originality, vibrancy and sense of pure fun in Sunset Overdrive (rather than the sense of "Look how much better we can make the graphics of the reveal trailer of the next entry of this particular franchise!") that really made me tempted by the Xbox One in 2014, and made me think it had enough variety and originality to feel more like an exciting purchase than a bit of an obligation.

Sunset Overdrive isnt a system seller in my book, but it is a breath of fresh air in an industry whose games take themselves too seriously. Its a good secondary game and since you said Halo Master Chief Collection was on your list then thats definitely screams console seller. Four Halo games is a great deal. You will most likely miss the Halo 5 beta but for now you're good. :)

SO was my GOTY, I'm happy that more people are giving it a chance. As far as sales go, it's doing fine IMO. It will reach over 1m for sure, wish it sold better but it isn't doing bad.
