That may just be more because it had a particularly good trailer rather than because the game itself is particularly good (I'll wait and see whether it turns out to be great when I play it), and it was the Halo MCC collection that made the console more of a feasible buy for me this early (Sunset Overdrive could always be picked up a year or so later when I got the console), but Sunset Overdrive just really stood out as an original, fun looking game. Other great looking multiplats like Far Cry 4 were high on my list, despite not being enough in themselves to make me upgrade to a new system for a better version, but it was the originality, vibrancy and sense of pure fun in Sunset Overdrive (rather than the sense of "Look how much better we can make the graphics of the reveal trailer of the next entry of this particular franchise!") that really made me tempted by the Xbox One in 2014, and made me think it had enough variety and originality to feel more like an exciting purchase than a bit of an obligation. |
Excellent decision. Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct are musts in my opinion. Of course if you're into those genres. Titanfall is a good game also.
Fizziebot is officially one of my favorite boss fights of all time. Just so epic! Easy, but epic!
I bought the game on disk and it's a great game. Every Xbox One owner should have Sunset Overdrive in their collection.
People are forgetting about digital sales. I know atleast 10 people on my friends list that own the game and all got it digitally. I haven't bought a game with a disc since the initial launch games and that goes for both my xb1 and my ps4. I have a collection of about 1600 games in the cases dating back to the atari 2600 and it's just a hassle.
Well i don't think we have forgot we just don't know. Then end up guessing which could be spot or way off either way. I've been saying awhile i wish they'd tell us digi sales. At least 1st party games. Especially Killer Instinct

The Microsoft digital sale definitely helped, im sure. They hooked me on it with the daily deal. Couldn't pass it up. I'm definitely playing this game twice. Once without the DLC and another time with the DLC. This game would've been so amazing with co-op gameplay. I don't care if they increase the difficulty, because the more the merrier.

This game isn't first party. It's second party, Insomniac owns the IP..Microsoft just wanted the game on their platform.
