It makes me sad that such an original game was doomed to get mediocre sales. It simply didn't attract many Xbone players.

I was kind of niche game to begin with. Not many people expected it to sell all that much.

It wouldn't have been niche on PS4.

You're right, the PS4 has a userbase used to these kinds of games, since PS always had a good mix of serious and colorful games, its fans are used to it. If this was a PS4 exclusive, it would've been vastly more popular, wouldn't be surprised to see it break 2M.

I'm now filled with determination.

It's possible but we won't know.

Infamous is on the two million sellers list and its at least close enough to that genre, and Knack sold 1.27 M. Yeah...the game would've sold on a Sony platform. If Knack could sell...so could Sunset. Sony's fanbase this gen buys a wider variety of games in larger amounts. Even one million would've sufficed. In all truth and fact any new IP from Insomniac should be multiplat if it isnt exclusive to Sony.

release it on pc, it will sells like hotcake and we will get sequal in no time

inFAMOUS is an established franchise and Knack was a launch game and the only way to get a PS4 at launch in Japan was with Knack. Sunset Overdrive came out against some stiff compeition and that also contributed to its lack of sales.

I don't think that would do it, you need to take into account that anyone that decides to play it on PC would need a very high-end PC, that would leave lots of people out of the equation, and limit sales a lot.

Look up the sales of the infamous franchise. Sony didnt have such a great fourth quarter last year and Sunset Overdrive would've fit right in since two of their closing exclusives got pushed back to 2015. Sunset Overdrive probably would've been bundled with Sony consoles in a limited fashion just like Knack. If Sony had let Insomniac keep the IP Sunset Overdrive would've most likely been exclusive to a Sony platform, but thats neither here nor there. The main point of my post is about how good this game really is. It made me realize how seriously I take gaming and kind of knocked me out of it.

No they wouldn't. The game would look great on a PC and better than the Xbox One version on even a $500 PC. The question is how many people would buy it. PC on console style games generally sells much less and is usually used as filler sales these days.

I will buy it when I can get a physical copy for $30.

The majority of Knack's sales came through bundles.  Sunset Overdrive was bundled also but in a much more limited amount since the main holiday bundle was the AC Unity one.
