Fact is that the current sales trends point towards PS4 winning this generation, and basing your predictions on what ifs and hopeful scenarios is a recipe for disaster.

My thoughts Exactly, The PS2 and DS had some good other reasons outside of hardware power to be the best selling consoles/handhelds like games lineup, brand recognition (Nintendo is better known in handhelds than Sony), price etc. the PS4 has now a lot of those reasons (with the games lineup improving a lot now in 2015) and all the others almost secured as well.

Great reading.. offcourse i'm 39 years old, so i know alot of the "nintendo made this industry" facts.. but still nice to read in year order.. (and i'm sure therer are many on this side, who wassent there or know)

Also pretty fun fact "stongest had never won" but i do believe ps4 can do it this time (offcourse it will be a "half victory" becourse Nintendo will do theire next console way before sony.. and theerefor already on to next gen)

Don't mind the people, picking on you and try to get the facts, look like your own personally belives.. (hatters gonna hate)

The games often looked better. That gives the impression of being more powerful.

It's actually just that the PS1 had much more versatile architechture meaning it was able to make certain genres look better. Not all games were huge open 3D worlds, which is what the N64 was designed around. Put a PS1 game in a corridor or whatever, and it was able to pull of perceivably equivalent visuals. I can't think of a racing game on the N64 that looked better than say Ridge Racer Type 4 on the PS1. Plenty of 60fps beat em ups on the PS1 too which looked silky smooth whilst most N64 beat em ups ran at half that.


PS1 had a more versatile media, that is the only thing that was better. The ps1 had the ugliest, pixelated mess for textures, polygon tearing up the ass, polygon warping and bending, it was so horribly underpowered, it wasn't even in the same class as the n64.

Quite the hyperbole here. Have you ever actually played a PS1 game?

Wii or Wii U. Same thing. The less powerfull hardware of each gen. Wish nintendo go bacK to N64 days.

well, now i have two kids. almost a year old each (twins), so a powerfull console from nintendo with great graphics and childish games will be great in about six years!.
