Do you fit the stereotypical gamer type?

Yes, with a fedora to boot 7 3.41%

I'm overweight and a little geeky looking 36 17.56%

I'm standard weight but still look geeky 57 27.80%

No, I'm pretty metrosexu... 105 51.22%

Total:205

Today's gamer look is anyone's as everyone plays games from time to time. You should've asked if you're a hardcore gamer do you fit the old stereotype criterias.

In my case people are kind of surprised I play games because unless someone talks about videogames I usualy never mention them in conversations. I don't wear videogame clothing, I'm far from fat and spotty.

Nope, I'm sexy and I know it. (Although referencing a LMFAO song is definitely not sexy).

Signature goes here!

The fact that I petty much don't have anything(tshirts, figures, posters, magazines, books etc) that would identify me as gamer other than the consoles and games itself make it very easy for me to blend in and pretend I'm a normal person.

Also I do sports, so that catapults me on the very end of the opposite spectrum.

Stereotypical gamer for me does not fit any of the criteria that you mentioned Seece. To me the stereotypical gamer is a bro. Things have certainly changed. I do feel like this thread was just designed to highlight certain qualities that you are not, by the way.

Opinions.

You show the clueless man on the street a pic of what I described and a pic of a bro and I guarantee 99% will side with me.

I mean in terms of appearence? Are you overweight, spotty, wear a feadora, have zero taste in fashion, you all know what I'm talking about.

Be honest, (or vote anonymously) I'd be interesting to see if it is more outdated than I think it already is.

And yes owning a videogame t shirt goes someway to fitting the stereotype guys.

I only look geeky when I wear one of my two nintendo shirts. I'm not trendy or metrosexual by any means, I look more like casual than anything.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Nope, but I really wouldn't consider myself "sexy".

But you're gay remember, we have an inbuilt advantage here.

I'm overweight, but that's from doing non gaming "cool" activities like spending to much time in the pub :p

I do own a few gaming T-shirts, but they were either gifts or free, not ones I chose to buy (I generally find gaming fashion is too "OMG look I play cool games lolz!") I'd say my fashion taste is actually quite good and do have the odd moments of metrosexuality :p

I think I fit more of the brass musician stereotype than a gamer.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I'm not overweight and I haven't worn any gaming related clothing since I was 10. I wear glasses but I usually only use them for gaming and I've never worn a fedora in my life. If you just saw me on a normal day you probably couldn't tell that I'm into video games.

Im 6ft 2 inch with an athletic build. Im also very good at sports, and for a short time was a profesional footballer (it was 20 years ago lol). I am a baldy though, own Amiibos and have the odd gaming t-shirt, so im unsure of what stereotype i fit in.
