My favourite genre is 3D platformers. Besides SM3DW, what does the Wii U really have there?

Any of the Lego games, Epic Mickey 2, Skylanders, Pacman, and Sonic Lost World (which is actually good, just takes some time to get used to the controls and some of the level gimmicks are bizarre).

Don't forget about Captain Toad!  (Elevators count as platforms, right?)

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I think that there are four core consumer groups for Nintendo.

1. People that likes Mario-games
2. People that likes Pokémon-games
3. People that likes Zelda-games
4. Parents that prefer to buy a Nintendo console for their children

I am number 3 on that list. I only bought my Wii U because of Zelda. One single Zelda game would have been enough for me to justify the purchase of their console, but of course I will buy a few other games as well in the end, and hopefully there will be 3 Zelda's for me to enjoy (including WW HD).

What Nintendo's home consoles lack are some proper Pokémon adventure games. Top down adventures like the ones they have for their handhelds. A few Pokémon games would surely give the console a boost.

As far as 8th gen consoles go I have a PS4, Wii U is the only other console I want this generation (unless Microsoft actually announces games that interest me enough to buy an Xbox One at some point in the future).
I love the exclusives Sony already has and what's coming, along with the 3rd party and Indie games make it my primary 8th gen system, but I absolutely have to buy a Wii U next year, main reasons are Zelda, Starfox and Splatoon, but Xenoblade and Devil's Third are must have 2015 games too for me.
There's also one hell of a backlog of games that I'd like too play that have been released since the console came out, 2015 will be the year I buy a Wii U.

TBH with a PS4 and Wii U I don't think I'd have time to play anything else over the next 4-5 years before the 9th gen comes along.

This is exactly my answer but i dont care about Devil's Third or Splatoon.

If all those games come out in 2015 then i may have to get a Wii U during the beginning of 2016 (hopefully the price will drop :) but knowing Nintendo it prob wont) ....because there will be to many ps4 and wii u games to play on the so little time i have :(

I'm really quite meh on LEGO games, and nearly all are availible on other platforms, Epic Mickey 2 is also availible on other platforms, so is Skylanders, so is pacman. And I'm not interested in any of those games anyway. So that only leaves Lost World. Not much to get excited about really.

Even if you prefer 3D platformers, you could always give the 2D ones a try! They are very fun, specially Rayman Legends!
