Which will die first?

Consoles 24 12.37%

Handhelds 92 47.42%

Neither 78 40.21%

Total:194

The markets will shrink and both will find a way to evolve and adjust in the changing market besides Japan can carry the load when it comes to handheld sales. lol! xD

I think the damage to handles has already happened and I cant see it getting much worse.
I wouldn't be surprised if some mobile gamers start to return to handhelds after realising they're missing something once more impressive hardware comes out.

This isn't even a question. Handhelds are obviously on the way out and have been for quite a while. Consoles on the other hand? Well as far as I'm aware PS4 is still the fastest selling console in history. That market seems to be doing fine.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If one would have to die first then it would definitely be handhelds, the obvious reason being smartphones.

WTF is a signature?

I believe that the people who say consoles or handhelds are dying are the ones who have the most to gain from it. Consoles and handhelds are dedicated devices for gaming and they are fairly easy to make high quality games for. PC's that can play any game are usually too expensive for many gamers and upgrading them is costly too. You would have less gamers playing games that way.

Smartphones are the lowest on the totem pole as far as gaming goes and they are as expensive as consoles are. That shit will never replace consoles or handhelds.

Handhelds have to share a market now so the user base is smaller but as long as there's Nintendo(and considering they'll probably have the only deticated handheld next gen) and Pokemon, handhelds will do fine.  We'll never see another DS/PSP gen again but the market will survive.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

Actually console sales are up. Why? Because Wii attracted many non gamers into gaming. Now they have left for smartphones. Core hardcore gamers are faith to console gaming.

Consoles and Handhelds will never die. When i was working in the gaming industry, me and my coworkers never considered PC gaming as gaming industry. PC gaming was, is, and will always be a dying industry.

"Ubisoft: PC has Piracy Rate of 93-95%, F2P the Future. Free-to-play model helps recoup money in territories where piracy is rife. By Daniel KrupaUbisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot has revealed that the percentage of people who pay in free-to-play games is roughly the same as those who buy boxed games (approximately 5-7%)."

First of all, you trust Ubisoft? You trust Ubisoft. Holy shit. All your credibility has been completely destroyed. Second, you clearly can't give a trustworthy opinion on this matter, even when Steam and other services are only getting bigger here you are trying to tell us all that it's a sinking ship, you clearly have a bias going towards console gaming.

I'm now filled with determination.
