Total sales of the month so far for the systems more or less are:
WiiU ~91k
PS4 ~106k
3DS ~486K
Vita ~78k

Ah someone in this thread said it had pretty much hit 20m in Japan. Though that said, VGChartz figures for Europe and Rest of World are complete stabs in the dark.

I'm pretty sure those celebrating ps4's bundle win over wii U will also realize that next year's DQ launch will do just a small bump for the hardware. A good chunk of the folks will stick to ps3 and those who want the ps4 version will faster jump for the LE.
Also expect Wii U to be up YOY next year, same with Ps4. Why wii U? I'm assuming nintendo has a nice steady stream of releases with atleast 1 big game every month along with a massive smash + mk8 bundle for the holiday season. PS4: More japanese games and even more releases than Wii U (obviously).

How much cheaper was the cheaper bundle last year?

Last year, there was a ¥32.800 bundle with New Super Mario Bros. U + Wii Party U + Extra Wii Remote Plus + Sensor bar + Wii Karaoke U subscription. There was also the ¥34.800 with everything from the above bundle + Wii Fit U + Fit Meter. So...not exactly "cheaper" at all, definitely more value though. MK8 bundle is ¥32.800

3DS isn't too amazing, Wii U down significantly from last year, PSVita is now down from last year, PS4 dropped like a rock as predicted (people shouldn't be shocked by this) and will drop further next week, and XB1 is the best console. 

Smash Bros. Wii U hasn't matched Mario Kart 8's second week yet. Youkai Watch is incredible, Mario Kart 8 will pass MKDD LTD numbers, FFEx is pretty alright, Phantasy Star is a super bomba.

One would assume that overall value of the console has significantly risen since a year ago due to a lot of great games being released. But that's probably wrong. Games don't sell consoles, bundles do.

How many other consoles/handhelds had growth during its fourth holiday season in Japan?  I'm sure its few and far between, even with increasing 3rd party support
