Think about it, if Sony starts streaming these new games everywhere, what is stopping especially the bigger publishers to just say "we can do this ourselves", let's say EA, Activision and Ubisoft just start their own streaming services, that's a huge loss for Sony.

and what's to stop them from making their own streaming services right now?  what convuluded logic do you have where sony creating a servics that gives publishers an easy method for distributing games to a wider audience on smartTVs and other devices  makes publishers like EA and activision more likely to suddenly go it on their own to achieve that goal?

and don't kid yourself, a streaming services is a massive investment and going it on their own is almost guarenteed to not be worth it for anyone that isn't trying to get all developers on a service.  no one, and i mean no one, is ever going to purposfully build a "go it alone" service.

You basically answered it yourself, they are not doing it now because nobody's doing it and because it would be a huge investment. But the moment something like this becomes the standard? Why the hell not? I can see all of them making that extra investment to emancipate themselves from Sony/MS/Nintendo once everything goes in the direction of streaming.

Yeah they are succesful although I don't know how many people use the apps . I think I remember reading that more than half of TV sales now are smart TV's.
