You did. You said it will be a success and you used the word "saturation".

What the hell? I'll say it one last time: This is NOT about the console/handhelds, it's about a service designed to broaden the market for the PS brand. In no comments whatsoever have I, or anyone else, said anything about it helping to sell consoles. This is a figment of your imagination because you think that's what this conversation is all about: Console wars.
I'm done.
"KLXVER said:
Ok it works, has a large game library and is made by Sony. Those are facts.
It will be a success, is the future of gaming and will make people buy a Playstation. Those are not facts.
Does that sound right...?"
The PS5 Exists.

Nobody ever said that it woudl make people buy a Playstation, at least not in this thread...I also don't recall seeing a post about it being the future of gaming (though cloud gaming could very well be).
I think this conversation has gotten needlessly complicated, let me just try to answer your earlier questions.
"Is PSNow out yet?"
Yes and no, it is currently in an open beta but hasn't fully launched. I believe the full launch (as well as a Netflix style subscription option) will be in the first half of 2015.
"Why give it to your competition?" (not your question, I know, but one worth answering)
The easy answer is that it is probably worth more to Sony to have a larger audience for it's streaming services than have it be exclusive to Sony TVs.
"Is it a huge success?"
We don't really know yet, but as it hasn't been fully launched, there really isn't anything to know.
"why will it be successful?"
Well, it has a good chance of being sucessful because it's the first service of it's kind that really works an offers a compelling product. It's also an easily acessable way for people to get into gaming who otherwise might not.
"who is this meant to cater to?"
Mostly people who aren't hardcore gamers, people who would enjoy gaming, but can't justify spending the hundreds of dollars required to get into it. Also, people who play mobile games who want an easy, convienent way to try new types of games. And people who got rid of their older Playstations but want to replay some of their old favorites.
"Why is this a sure thing?"
It's not, but it's got a much better chance than anything else like it that come along.
Not trying to argue or anything, just hoping to clear up any confusion. Feel free to ask more questions though.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Ok, I owe you an appology. I was responding to the first sentence and should have deleted the rest, but you're not to know that. My fault, sorry.

Its all good. I just have some doubts about this service. If its successful, then more power to Sony.

Yeah, it was my fault for jumping on it too keenly. The only real difference between our views appears to be that I'm confident it will be a success and you're more doubtful.
