Forums - PC - What game made you a PC gamer?

Starcraft,Warcraft,Diablo,C&C, Tycoon games etc, I was into a lot of strat games back in the early days but PC back then wasn't my porimary as it is now.

I do feel that now is the ebst time for me being a PC gamer with the cheap deals, many places to buy from and the ability to upgrade parts whenever.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

It started with Simcity 3000, Dungeon Siege, Suberbike 2k1, Escape from Monkey Island and Croc 2 around 2004. For a while I couldn't play any games because my PC was complete shit. Midway through gen 7 I couldn't afford a PS3 or 360, but I could afford a cheapo $99 dollar Radeon 5670HD. That card was good enough to run all my pirated games at the time. I got a job, upgraded my PC, deleted all my pirated games and started playing legit games. The rest is history >_>

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I was always a PC gamer, even before Nintendo.

Wolfenstein made me PC gamer.

If emulators don't count, then I'd have to say the large number of point and click adventure games (can't single out just one).

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Septerra core and unreal gold. My dad came back from the US after a visit and got those two games instead of a Gameboy advance like he had promised. I was bummed out a bit but then I started playing them. I didn't know a lick of English at the time (I was 8 or 9 in colombia) but I was hooked although I could not finish either one. It wasn't until many years after moving to Belize, learning English and then coming to the US that I was able to revisit the games and get past them. I still have the CDs laying around although they don't work well.

Primarily strategy games. Shooters like Doom, Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, Half-Life and Unreal Tournament came later for me. These were the ones I played in my early years:

1996: C&C Red Alert + Time Commando + DX-Ball + SimPark

1997: Age of Empires + Theme Hospital + Dungeon Keeper

1998: Dune 2000 + StarCraft + Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit

1999: C&C Tiberian Sun + Heroes of Might and Magic III + RollerCoaster Tycoon + Grand Theft Auto 2
