Forums - Gaming Discussion - Stage of the game (New random opinion piece): The Return of the Wii60?

Ps4+WiiU. Most 'exclusive' games on the bone are also on PC.

I don't get why this would be the return of the Wii60. The main reason was that you could buy a Wii and X360 for roughly the same money as a PS3(and i'm pretty sure it was the $299 arcade model anf $249 Wii). That's not possible this gen.

The problem this gen is no matter how much nostalgia the xbox has from N64 days I cannot get myself to like the console.

Killer Instinct for example - not a fan of it being download only and to top it off in part. Even the grate Halo franchise, why should I have to download 20GBs of the game that should have been on the retail disc?

Microsoft has really fucked up and pissed of gamers like me who want nothing to do with DLC apart form minor updates ti fix bugs, not like AC Unity 40gb fix REALLY?

So for me those games I loved on my N64 and xbox and xbox 360 are automatically ruined and not worth a buy again.

Don't forget that Sony also stole a lot of franchises from Nintendo, be it 3rd party ones. They still to this day exist on the Sony platform. ATM Sony has the best balanced games across multiple genres.

Nintendo is just a Nintendo box now, so its a must purchase if you want to play their games. I just hope next gen they do not become like the competition with all this digital crap. Hell I want Nintendo to drop discs all together and go back to solid state memory were the same file lives with the game and can be taken to a friends house and played like the old days.

So from my perspective at the moment the best combo is PS4 and Wii U.

Next gen I will probably quit gaming if all this digital crap and huge DLC packages take over.

If you don't own a PC or its not up to snuff for current gen gaming, then sure, Sony does have the best balanced system out there.

If you do have a good gaming rig, or a great even then no.  I can't see why someone would want a PS4 if they have a great gaming PC honestly.  Maybe back in the day when PC was a pain in the ass, or when controllers were iffy but not now.  Best combo I see for this gen is easily PC+Wii U,  If you have no interest in PC, then PS4 solo would cut it.  If you can afford it with no interest in PC, then get all the consoles.

And don't worry, next gen, if there is one, will be about microtransactions in full priced games.

LOL Everyones acting like I said the WiiBox combo was the best. I was just saying it is reminiscent of the N64 era where the console struggled but threw everything from Nintendo and Rare at Sony (if you combine the efforts of Nintendo and the Xbox its quite similar if you think about it). MS is using Rare IP's to do battle since they own them and if you're a fan of Rare despite it being a shell of its former self you owe it to yourself to at least check it out. If you are a KI fan then definitely. I am doing a desperate piece for the PS4 Wii U combo and then another one for the PS4 and Xbox One.

I explained earlier in the piece that I am not talking about the Wii60 deal (as in the price point advantage), but in terms of entry exclusives from both brands as a combo. I am doing other pieces as well for the Xbox One and PS4 and the PS4 and Wii U. I already explained that the Wiibox deal isnt possible this gen since the PS4 is reasonably priced.

as a german you cracked me up when you wrote WiiXbone :p

The WiiBone combo is increasingly appealing to me. The libraries compliment each other well.

Good combo.
