Well, the Kinect XBO was $1100 here, the thing is that Sony still doesn't build them in Brazil so it's all imported and we have stupid (corrupt) laws that overprice imported stuff (a lot) and when it enters here, already very expensive, it's taxed more than guns (not even close to be legal as in US), so we ended up with that shit price.
Not to say games come for $100 and our internet connections are ridiculously slow and expensive as well, and we are not even close to be a rich country with a rich population!

It's basically they trying to say to us: don't buy it, but here it is.

And people didn't wanted systems to be heavily pirated here.

This has such massive industrial impact. My company will not sell any of our medical equipment to Brazil, despite it being a huge market, until we can manufacture locally. The tariffs are simply just too imposing, and even establishing a manufacturing facility is quite difficult. I understand the concept, but Brazilians pay quite a hefty price to service it.

Yeah, we have a bit of that in the US, too lol.

The cost of living in Brazil has always astounded me, as it effectively suppresses the potential standard of living.

At least they're slick about it. Instead of shouting it to the heavens, they didn't tell anyone! Maybe Sony wouldn't be so desperate if they would just tell us about these deals, then people will jump on them, en masse. As it stands, the people that run across these deals are just lucky. That arrogance is gonna come back to bite them. It was silly of Sony to team up with Gamestop and give them kickbacks to make attractive bundles...and then Sony not telling anyone "hey, you can get an excellent value at Gamestop".

Bold strategy, Sony. Let's see if it pays off for you

Now Amazon doesn't have the camera anymore, and Gamestop does, but it's only with one game. Sony sure is weird. They're setting up various bundles with different retailers, with different values all at the same price of $399. It's really confusing. It's as if Sony isn't involved with what specials the retailers are making, at all.....

Of course it's involved, ps4 + 2 free games was literally announced by Sony itself some days ago... And don't you think is fishy that stores are all giving cameras?...

Not to mention, these deals were never mentioned on Playstation Blog, unlike the GTAV/TLOU and LBP3/LEGO bundles. Or is it that Sony has come up with a more stealthy tactic? *Strokes beard*

No TLOU, no camera.

And no, I don't think it's fishy they're giving away cameras, because more likely than not, Gamestop is just matching Amazon (think back when XBone + Titanfall dropped to $450 at Walmart for a month, then everyone followed suit). So, Amazon made this deal and Gamestop followed suit. Amazon's was just a day though, and Gamestop's, supposedly, is til the 24th (that's what I read on the Reddit thread) so I don't see a big chain reaction of Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Fry's, etc. offering PS4s + cams and games for free, since these aren't for extended periods of time.
