Canadians have it even worse, we pay 70$ for games (I'm sure there are even higher prices in other areas).

Amen brotha! Not too mention it's closer to $80 once the 13% tax is applied.

Hey, I heard Canadians get free college education? Maybe that's why taxes are high over thar?

LOL the truth hurts!

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Not true.

The issue is that most games are not worth anywhere near $60 at launch for the experiences they provide.

There will always be people preordering and buying at launch. Even if the game prices double. Money is expendable, playing a highly anticipated game as early as possible is priceless.

The only games that hold their value are cod titles and first party nintendo games, everything else gets traded in so often they have yo slash prices to keep selling new stuff.

Nintendo titles are ridiculous. Skyward sword is still like 60 dollars in some places

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

I really see no problem here. Just about every industry works this way, if price is an important factor for you then you should not be buying ANYTHING immediately upon release or on pre order, this includes, cars, electronics, games, software, movies, music, clothes etc etc. The business goal is to price it at the maximum rate that the consumer will bear, as sales reduce you reduce the price to pickup the next level of people, the speed at which an item drops is directly related to the cost of producing said goods, sales level of the item and what they can get people to pay.

When PS4 and X1 launched last year, were game prices $65 then too? I thought games only became $65 after the value of the Canadian dollar fell?
