Forums - Sales - The PS4 has overtaken the X1 in another category

Considering Xbox had the upperhand last gen and have more of its sale on USA (which normally means better attachment) it is good if true.

And considering x1 comes bundled with 1-3 games while ps4 is mostly vanilla or paid game, it becomes quite impressive.

What? Who buys a PS4 without at least one bundled game?

Another reason for the tie ratio to be big on row is that usually on this places only people with more money buy consoles, even more at gen beggining. So it can be quite different than places were even poor people buy.

Here at the begin mostly only rich buys, then when console is cheap and with piracy the poor people buy with 0 or 1 legal sw for lt. X360 were afront of ps3 here because of this and Nintendo Always lost to sega and sony because of it. But with xbl they were able to make people buy more original games because of the bans.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Several vanilla ps4 or bundles that you pay the game were sold. I'm not saying people bought PS4 without sw, just that they didn't receive 1-3 free games before bf.

With the free games Microsoft was giving during destiny that counted towards the tie in ration, that's impressive.

Grats Sony. Come to think about it I have a higher Digital to Physical game ratio on the PS4 which makes this seem even more impressive to me, but that might just be because the PS4 has a lot more games, many are easier to get digitally.

There has got to be way to track digital sales, I'm guessing a lot is going digital. I bet software companies are pleased with this shift.

Same applies to Xbone, MS just started earlier with Titanfall and a longer time before BF. But your last sentence I quoted before is exaggerating the situation.

How is an exageration when I didn't say all, but most. And before BF Sony had no bundle including free games. The most you could get was 10 dollars discount.

While MS have been throwing free games since release with forza (january it was free wasn't???) , TF, etc... It would inflate ms tie ratio. And I didn't ask to take it out of the math. Just said it was impressive work by Sony.

I know I'll seem dumb, but what's a tie ratio?

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

It's the ratio of people that game while wearing a tie (bow-tie included) on each console.

Well, at least in Germany there were almost always bundles available, not counting many deals from Saturn and MediaMarkt with weekly offers. But yes, PS4 was impressively the cheaper console and so they didn't really *need* to bundle in games like MS had to in the end of the year.
