Pure cost doesn't represent value though. That could easily have been just a large amount of poor games (I think it has been recently actually).

Are you really gonna argue that $50 for over $1,300 worth of content ranging at 79/78 Meta isnt a good deal?

How can you really argue that it is just a large amount of poor games too, when the average Meta's range from 79/78?

Meta scores don't really tell the whole story though, most of those games were indie games (meaning massively overinflated meta scores).

Regardless I think 2013 PS+>>>>>>2014 PS+

Im gonna go ahead and assume you have proof that most games released on PS Plus in 2014 were Indies. A list of the "real" games would be nice too while youre at it.

The problem is they are giving nothing, you stop paying you lose the games. That's renting ;)

Let me know how many rentals you get elsewhere for $50 total on the year, with many of those rentals lasting 6+ months if you quit renting after the 1st year.

Microsoft let you keep the games at least on Xbox 360. PS Plus was very nice until it went necessary to play online on PS4 and this last months they've been giving many bad games... :s

It was much better before.

Please list those bad games

The One and Only

VizionEck.com

I've saved more money than that just with sales without PS+ My total cost at full price would have been 2500, but due to sales, cost me less than 500. No PS+ required.

I love PS+ and have paid my subscription in advance for years.

But many of these games were also available for reduced prices in the weekly PSN sales.
I would like to see the prices of these games added together with the lowest PSN price for each game.

So how much would someone had to pay for the 2014 PS+ games in total without subscription, but waiting for the best deal (additional percentages for PS+ members of course not included).

Exactly what I was hoping for. You even numbered them.

I just counted 97 videogames over 3 platforms for $50 over a range of genres averaging almost 80 on Metacritic. This list includes Game of the Year contenders (Bioshock, Tomb Raider, Batmans and more) to smaller pick up and play games (Don't Starve, Fez, Binding of Isaac, etc). This doesnt actually include the special deals and sales that are a part of PS Plus. This averages at almost .50 a game.

The service offers variety not just in genre but in style and substance. Not every gamer is obsessed with the big budget shooter and likewise not every gamer is obsessed with side scrolling SHMUPs.

The value comes from the variety, and to dismiss that because "indies" is a really petty thing to do when many games released on the service (Indie or not) are generally very well recieved.

I dont get how you can say you got something and how something you dont even own can somehow be added to a number that then shows the value you received.
I mean I cant even keep it.

Coming from someone who gets all games on Steam, it's really ironic to talk about things you don't own...

Dragon's Crown was a full fledged and full priced retail game.

And in Europe there were some additional "non indie"-Vita titles you could download in 2014:

Soul Sacrifice, BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extended, MotoGP 13, Everybody's Golf, Lego Batman 2 and Lego Harry Potter Years 5 - 7.

Thanks Conina, make that over 100 games then averaging at less than. 50 per game.

You completely dodged my question.

I rest my case.
