White Wii U FTW!!!!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Well, there may be a chance of receiving the shorter-lasting rechargeable battery for your GamePad, depending on when the console was manufactured.

Especially if it's only bundled with one or two launch games.

So thinking about buying a Wii U to get the kids into gaming.

The best deals in the UK seem to be on the Basic Console, are there any downsides to this version over the premium, besides the lack of space, as i already have an external USB HDD so i dont think thats an issue.

Just wanted to check if there was any other issues with the smaller internal Memory i should know about?

If you will need to buy games, it might make more sense to get the 32 gb as you can pick it up with Mario Kart rather than buying the basic for 50 pounds cheaper than then paying 50 pounds for Mario Kart 8. Also, keep in mind that the older Wii games all work and there is a massive backlog of games there.

Also the gampad stand and charging cradle won't come with the basic, which to me has been really useful. Particularly to place the gamepad somewhere safe. It also charges it while it's put away rather than plugging it in and out all the time.

My advice? Buy an elite at a cheap price with as many games as you can get that the kids will ask for later and you will have to fork out 50 quid for.

No there are no issues or difference other than the amount of internal storage. If you plan to download a bit, you will need that external USB HD, it will need to be formatted by the system. The DDP will be done, so no difference.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

- no Network Premium cashback for digital purchases, but that program ends at the end of 2014
- no GamePad stand and charging cradle
- no vertical stand for the console
I don't use them, my console is placed horizontally and I charge the GamePad directly with the charging cable

And don't forget to play yourself

Wow thanks i think you covered everything, have to say im pretty gutted about the charge stand but that aint a deal breaker.

Think i will be getting one very soon now, thanks all.

You need to get yourself the charging cradle if you go with the Basic.

It's super useful and I coudn't imagine being without it. I never have to plug the cable directly into the Gamepad since I always take breaks while playing (and the battery isn't bad at all).

This covers practically everything, except Nintendoland. Back as I bought my premium it contained Nintendoland and the basic version not. MIght have changed though, and you probably get the basic bundled with a game you like more.

Good call! Like everyone posted above, besides the size, and the cradle and charging station there isn't really anything else you're missing.

Find a good deal on the basic and go for it if you don't mind missing those, especially if you can buy the charging station later!
