Forums - Nintendo - Ducktales remastered and why I think it is awful

There is a lot of voice acting, probably more than there should be. I'll give you that.

But the gameplay itself to me is great. And While I wish there was a bit less, I love the voice acting. They managed to get all of the voice actors from the show which I loved, even though some of them are in their 90's.

I just love everything Ducktales.

The only truly bad part of the Ducktales remake is how the classic pogo controls just don't work, and were never fixed in a patch.

But... but nostalgia...

I liked the game and to me, the game is worth keeping on any of the following: PS3, XBox 360, Wii U or PC.

I liked the voice acting, although I agree there was a little too much of it. A platformer doesn't need that much VA and storytelling.

I dont understand why people hate it when a character talks a lot in a game. I personally dont want to hear bland silence for the entire game.

I loved the remaster. Has a whole lot of charm, and the Disney-made sprites are wonderful. That music as well. :D

Honestly bashing a game after playing it for 10 minutes is bad sport.

I beat the game last week with all achievements in 7ish hours. I tuned out the blabber. Good enough game brought back the memories and I love the remixed soundtrack.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Back in the days Ducktales was one of my favourite games. Pure joy.

So I got the remaster and turned it off after 10 minutes. Reason? The stupid talkative main character who cannot shut his mouth but needs to talk for a minute after every 5 seconds of platforming. Advice: keep your mouth shut like all good Junp n Run characters, i.e. Mario.

First purchase I regret on the Wii U

This is just for the first stage, man. Chill out. On the other stages  there´s much less talking and a lot more platforming and exploration.

You can skip all dialogue everytime you want, but I bet you won´t want to replay the first stage, when you play the others.

As for me, I found it a very enjoyable remastering, although I don´t think it stands well as a retail game because it´s not a long game and it doesn´t have much content. I bought mine digital (I do understand that collectors will prefer the physical copy)

Yeah, while I enjoyed it, it was underwhelming to say the least. I think the voice acting and all the cut scenes took the nostalgia out of the game, not sure, just didn't feel the same. glad i bought it on sale though. the music however, still on point.

with that said, i wouldn't mind getting duck tales 2, since i never beat that or played much of it either, i just remember loving the music also.
