This is freaking awesome. I'll aim to be there next year!

So now we have CES, GDC, E3, Gamescom, TGS, and PSX.

Basically, one conference every other month. I like this pace. Sony has more than enough content to justify this. Between 1st and 2nd party offerings they can easily announce 2+ AAA games at this rate. Then there is all the third party and indie offerings. Hopefully, we can get back to expanded OS and network services being a part of the conferences again. The whole XBO announcment really hurt these conferences by limiting the scope.

blizzard can despite having what? 3 Series. They do a lot of esport tournaments and Cosplayer shows on blizzcon.

Sony can do a lot with third parties and their own games.

Well they need more than a bunch of announcements to make it something worthwhile.

It is PSP's 10th global anniversary next year, though it was officially available globally from Sept 2005, so that means a PSX in December will miss the anniversary by a few months.

It is also the 20th Anniversary, again, of global Playstation, since it didn't launch in EU and USA until Sept 1995. What would be cool, if they are at a position to be able to do a slim PS4, is if they make a limited edition PS4 housed in the original PS1 case. Though with the CD lid being a flip up LCD screen, so you can take PS4 on the road and not need a TV to use it. If they sell that limited edition for $800 I'm sure they'll make their money back.

About the best thing they can do for PSP 10 year anniversary is announce MH5 for PS Vita. There's pretty much nothing else they can do to make warm fuzzies for PSP / V.

Actually, now that they've hit 20th anniversary of the launch of PS, they can pretty much do a 20th anniversary special edition PS4 every year for something.

1995 20th anniversary Tekken, or Twisted Metal

1996 20th anniversary Resident Evil

1997 20th anniversary Gran Turismo

...

You get the picture.

Damn it, I wanted smaller PSX-like events spaced throughout the year.

Cool and next year will be the ps2's 15th anniversary so maybe they'll celebrate it and announce something really cool for the best console of all time.

So next year, they'll have a Sony executive with a shotgun behind the covers of the Square Enix presentation.
