Main protagonist should be Hachiman the Japanese God of War

Sony won't change their main charcter Kratos.

Kratos is an icon.

He's too important and popular to change for a different charcater.

The Japanese don't care about God Of War, and the west doesn't care about Japanese mythology so its unlikely to happen.

Nobody is asking for it either except for you.

NEED a new protagonist. Maybe even have Kratos as the main villain? Definitely would shake things up!

There are only 6 God Of War games and God Of War IV will likely be the beginning of a new trilogy which is very different from the previous games.

Since they said that its not a prequel, and there is no story of Kratos left after God Of War III I think a new protagonist is definitely going to come in a new mythology. Ascension even indicated that God Of War IV will be set in Egypt.
