yes.

but just maybe in another dimension they can pull off another majoras mask.

MM was unique in that assets from OoT could be reused in a convincing way.

Maybe they could do the same with Zelda Wii U, but I think Hyrule Warriors 2 would be more likely.

As much as I'd love a sequel to Hyrule Warriors, I hope it is not for a couple years at least.
I've spent like 170 hours in HW already, I feel like its neverending. I couldn't do this every year :P

I'm with most people here; One Zelda game for Wii U. It's life will be way too short for another.

So far only one Zelda game managed to be the best Zelda game. So the chance is always pretty high that the next Zelda is not gonna be it.

Not a single best Zelda game of all time since the SNES era.

Minish Cap, A Link Between Worlds, and Wind Waker are all better than ALttP.

Lot of misconceptions on the internet. Waiting for a Cracked article to clear this up.

The real question i think is will Wii-U have an exclusive Zelda game? Or will it release cross platform on something else? Maybe a little time in between release like The Last of Us?

Please tell me you're not serious.

Wii-U is doing terribly, i would be surprised if Nintendo didn't release a new system in 2016 at the latest. It could just be a Nintendo tablet that is similair to Wii-U. So that really isn't that crazy if Zelda releases at the end 2015 or possibly later.

Don't forget the new Zelda is the first HD Zelda game set in a big world. It will likely be Nintendo's most expensive Wii-U project and i don't think Wii-U's install base will allow for sufficient sales.

More than likely, yes.

It's possible we'll get a cross gen Zelda on Wii U and its successor as we did with Gamecube and Wii. In general though, one Zelda per system is expected. The NES had two because games were quicker to make (both were made within a year of each other), and the N64 only had two because they were trying to develop an OOT extension for the disk drive add on, but that got scrapped so they turned it into a new Zelda game in less than a year. Gamecube and Wii only have two because they share one. As development times get longer, the likelihood of a console getting two completely new, unique Zelda titles becomes a pipe dream. But that's okay. Zelda titles take 3 years to develop to the quality we know them for and there are two systems to support so it's for the best that we see them at the rate we do, or they'd probably not be very good.

Just because they are made by different developers and feel different and/or are remakes doesn't negate the fact that the Wii U will have a minimum of 3 Zelda games (counting Hyrule Warriors and WWHD).

That being said, I think it will have more than 3 ultimately. I strongly suspect Nintendo is working on a Twilight Princess HD game that looks exactly like the E3 Zelda demo trailer we got years ago. I also suspect Nintendo will release an HD-2d Link to the past style game (with a brand new story that doesn't make it dependent on Link to the past/between worlds/oracle of ages and seasons).

So, all in all I expect 5 total for Wii U's lifespan.

Nintendo isn't rushing out a new system because of poor Wii U sales, they don't want to end up like Sega - they know that cutting a generation off short will make them lose a lot of consumer confidence, which is something they've never lacked previously because of their good choices. The Gamecube wasn't a lot better and it still had a full lifespan, the same will happen to the Wii U.

It's successor is releasing 2016 at EARLIEST (even then it sounds extremely unlikely) and Zelda Wii U is certainly coming out next year. Edit: also, no Nintendo console has ever not had an exclusive Zelda game, I'm pretty sure Nintendo isn't planning on that ever happening.

Gamecube was more profitable for Nintendo, and don't forget that game development has become much more expensive then it was on the Gamecube over a decade ago. Even Wind Waker numbers might not be enough and Wii-U will have a much smaller install base. It's only falling behind Gamecube further and further, November NPD might actually show Wii-U numbers at half of what Gamecube sold in 2003.

And whe haven't seen a proper 3D Mario platformer yet either so this gen is going a little than we're used to. And as long as Nintendo keeps bringing games to Wii-U i don't think any owners will blame them even if some off the games are not exclusive. I didn't see many people complain when Smash went multiplatform.

Seems pretty likely at this point. Its not so bad though, SNES only had one Zelda game after all.
