Yes that's exactly what I am saying.  China does it all the time.  It's terifying that it's true really.

Again it is not that simple at all. Its not like you can simply update security like you can an antivirus. Not to mention:

a. how many companies are expected to be cyber attacked by North Korea? The answer is none, nobody expects to be hacked.

b. Of those companies, how many are aware of North Korea's cyberware fare capabilities, which is probably just modified chinese hacking code? Again the answer is none.

And it doesn't matter if Sony has been dealing with security issues for a while, its not like this would makes them more resiliant to cyberattacks. It just means they are a target. Because nearly every fortune 500 company has been hacked to degree. So Sony is not a special case here. It literally, could be any person or company being in that headline. 

Cyber Security is a lot like virology. It can handle things its seen before or knowledgable about, but there are new things that the immune system doesn't know how to handle. And the human immune system is much more effective then our best cyber security systems.

Obviously, that an exaggeration, but technically they can and they have. People can get hacked to.

This isn't a matter of my security system has 5 defense points, and their hacking has 4 so, I'm secure. If a hacker wants to hack something, there is always a way in, its just a matter of time.

The only reason we don't hear about it is because they either don't know or they want to keep it under wraps and control PR. Former is probably worse, since in the latter they are doing something about it, but its choosing between the best of two evils.

And FYI, countries like North Korea and the US have been engaged in cyber warfare for quite a long time, developing security and anti security systems. Still the Pentagon is vunerable to cyber attacks. Sony doesn't even develop security software, much less software at all, so why in the hell would they have protections that rival a government? Or be protected against a government cyber attack?

Oh north korea. Waging war with companies instead of other countries.

Some people are really obnoxious in their assumptions. Seems like everyone here knows exactly how Sony security is and how easy to hack it's.
I won't discuss here anymore, maybe it is a dangerous and knowledgeable hacker that could screw my life.

My company reports over 1M daily attacks and hacking attempt, if some are sucessfull will you blame then for not being able to withstand it?
I almost hope USA decides to invade your country, ONU stays mute and we blame your government for not being prepaired. We could also blame people on Hiroshima and Nagasaki for not surviving a nuke.
