Why is is that when movie's have violent content, they are fine to be sold, but as soon as it's a video game, it is immediately disgusting and should be banned?

Because people have the incorrect perception that games are for children and are aimed and marketed towards them. Given time this perception will hopefully change and with that change games will finally not get crucified for having content that's been in movies for decades.

well to be fair, target don't really sell many games these days so no loss really as most gamers don't go there.
