Not much of a split. Most just search up ps4. Same with ps3 and ps2. People like acronyms.

was the most searched term on BING on my computer between 10:21 a.m. CET and 10:22 a.m. CET today in the group of men aged thirty-something currently wearing black sweaters.

p.s.: As it turns out, BING has 32.000.000 results for that query.

well considering only microsoft employees use the search engine, thats no surprise.

Thx for the breakdown mate. Yeah not quite however I did make the assumption that Yahoo uses Bing. But even then not quite the 25% worldwide. It still is significant though I guess.

By the way, can someone explain to me the strange logic behind their "Top 10" charts?

In the "Xbox games" section, the Top 3 most searched terms are "Minecraft" (#1), "The Walking Dead: Season 2" (#2) and "Plants vs. Zombies" (#3). Yet in the more general "video games" section, none of these games is even mentioned?
On the other hand, why is "Halo: Master Chief Collection" - as far as I know, a Xbox exclusive title - the #3 most searched "video game", but only the #7 most searched "Xbox game"?
How on earth is "Grand Theft Auto V" (about 8 million search results on BING) only the #10 most searched video game on BING, a game called "Terraria" (never heard of it, just about 1 million search results on BING) #4?

Seriously, I just don't understand the logic behind that ranking. If they would at least publish some number for each entry and explain the algorithm behind the ranking, I might give it some credibility. But the way it is currently being done is simply not trustworthy. I wouldn't even rule out the possibility that the ranking was actually rather created/modified by humans, rather than sticking 1:1 to the total number of search queries.

There's no transparency at all, to me, that was just another proof of why Google is still much better/credible than BING, even though I don't even like Google and would happily use another search engine.

Now was this necessary?

They just dropped the overall brand category where Playstation (not PS4) would've been higher. At least I can't find any general category or brand category or anything like that. Why is that, I wonder...

Just saying they were pretty picky with the categories they chose to show off.

In the end, hardly anything is "necessary". My posting wasn't, and so wasn't yours.

The intention behind my posting was satirically pointing out that rankings/statistics have very little information content as long as one doesn't precisely understand the details of how they were compiled etc.

But I guess I could have made my point more clear by writing:

Well, isn't that interesting. Ofcourse, I really wouldn't trust these "rankings", particularly coming from Bing themselves, and it won't reflect on sales.
