Nope, I feel 360 lacked games, sure they had Many indies.

This is very simple, you need to desperately  make the list grow. I never included Xbox 360 indie games in talks in the past, Why would I change formula?

It's a subgroup, that's what it is, if you don't want to acknowledge this, I don't know what to tell you. It's like buying a Corvette and telling people it's the same as a chevy cruze. that's what you have essentially done, sure they do the same thing but they are on way different levels. The car is faster, there is way more to it then just grouping.

If anything it's the prison you have created by grouping everything.

Journey, Unfinished Swan, Wild, Rime, The Witness, No Man's Sky aren't worth counting because they're Indies? Limbo was a great game for the 360 and I was really glad when it finally came to the PS3.

The PS5 Exists.

Let's make this easy for people grouping.

Below is a Chevy corvette, it does the same exact thing as a cheaper and less expensive car but in a different fashion but with more bells and whistle's.

Here is a Chevy Cruze.  This is on a completely different level as the corvette. Yes it has a turbo, still can not touch the Corvette and is in a different sub-group then the Corvette.

Now you can group these cars as the same exact thing, they drive, take you where you need to go, they both have many of the same things. However I say there is more of a difference between Indies to main stream games.

Nope, those are a different sub-group and should be seperated in a group of games, they are not in the same caliber as the other. Like my 2014 Chevy Impala, it's great, I love it, however it's not the same as a Corvette.

Very thorough list. But if last gen taught me anything it's that having more games didn't necessarily mean a "better" library. 360 had way more games then PS3 and higher meta scores in the 70's to 90s but it didn't mean much to core gamers who believed PS3 offered better big name games.

Just saying these kinds of lists lack context. They bury the gems with the "meh". I realize this now.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

In spring 2015 when PS4 has The Order and Bloodborned and XB1 has no notable exclusives, will Xbox fans admit XB1 has emagon?

there will be halo5 , that alone will outsell both combined. Theres also quantum break . Those two alone are just as notable as the two you mentioned. There will be the new tombraider and the new fable to name a few.

Him said : Spring 2015, none of the game you talked about come in spring....

theres no release date yeat for quantum break or fable game so its possible. In any case , its okay if on emoth xbox one has no  AAA games. It will be good that ps4 is getting those two games on that month as i hav ebeen waiting for a trile AAA from sony since the TLOU remastered edition , which is a long  time ago whereas  i had the time to play all the ones that have relleased for the Xbox one atm.

The double standard goes both ways. Most who previously claimed indies justified the lack of exclusive AAA titles on the 360 suddenly don't believe they're worth including.

Personally, i'm just baffled as to what the hell MS's 1st party have been doing these last few years. Past Halo, Forza and a few Kinect games, they've done very little of note (AAA wise) in almost 4 years. A handful of indie/mini titles doesn't excuse the lack of everything else. Just like how Resogun and the like don't excuse Sony's lack of AAA titles this year (their 2013 effort is a valid reason, but it's not an excuse).

I'm not one of those people and I don't think 360's indies should be counted and never thought that. I don't really ever play them.

I wasn't implying you were, but it's a common theme among many members of the Xbox community here (and the reverse for the PS community).

I do think indies should also be counted, they're still games after all, but a distinction should be made simply for the sake of clarity. For example putting 193 ([x] AAA, [x] indies) vs. 131 ([x] AAA, [x] indies). Indies on their own can leave a library feeling lacking, but as a supplement they're great.

It would make no sense to exclude them completely in an objective comparison. Titles like Resogun, Velocity 2X and Transistor are why i (currently) think the PS4's library is quite a bit more appealing than the X1's, despite also thinking they're functionally identical AAA wise. Indies have value, even if they aren't directly comparable to standard retail games.

Wow, great work. What does the black mean?

it means once you go black, you never go back.

It really shows that both consoles are of to a great start :).

Good. I've always been a fan of comparing whole library vs whole library. Last gen, people wanted my head (perverts) for saying that. It was always "this game doesn't count because it's not exclusive, it's a Kinect game, it's indie, etc.

Now, we can all agree that 360 > PS3 and PS4 > Xbox One.

I missed this gem. Yeah, I am glad downloadable games and even indies available on PC suddenly count again. They need exposure too. I know I was mocked and told I was wrong last year for pointing out MS was supporting the 360 with games like State of Decay, Battleblock, Skulls of Shogun, etc etc. Those games didn't count. Now they do. It's good news.

The double standard goes both ways. Most who previously claimed indies justified the lack of exclusive AAA titles on the 360 suddenly don't believe they're worth including.

Of course it goes both ways with some. For example, in that thread from July of 2013 or something someone just linked, you posted in there that PC/360 games are irrelevant because most people have PC's. Does that also make a majority of these PS4 games irrelevant in list warz? Apparently so, unless you've changed your mind. The double standard is only relevant because it seems a majority of users here are Sony fans (or, at worst, they vastly outnumber Xbox guys) so it doesn't really matter what Xbox guys say, their posts are outnumbered. So last gen the general consensus here was indie games and "console exclusives" were irrelevant. Now this gen the general consensus has changed, because there are more Sony users here than MS, and now Sony has a lot of those games that were irrelevant in the past.

For the most part I think those of us praising indies last gen on Xbox are still fans of indies. You're way off base there. But our input does not speak for the forum, we are a minority.

Yes it's a completly different caliber of games, just like college and pro-footbal.
