Smash 3DS obviously cut into Smash U's sales like plenty said it would.

Smash at 35k? 0_o

Wow, that's like less than 1 in 10 WiiU users in the UK.

No. 50k vs *35k With 3DS having 8x the installbase and SSBU having stock problems (at least pre orders) doesn't make that statement true^

Its like SSBU has to outsell/be near SSB 3ds sales just for that reasoning to be false. SSBU was never going to be close to its 3ds counterpart. Especially when considering installbase.

If there was no 3ds counterpart the sales would be higher. Simple as that.

Well duh, but not that much higher,a few k's at best. Beside without 3ds version, sales overall would be tremendously down. So still No.

Unless you really believe SSBU would be really high???

I have no idea where it would have ended up. But the 3DS version seems to be the Smash fix that people need. To be the so called biggest Wii U release of 2014 its numbers are simply ok.

Sales would be down but the game would've helped WiiU a lot more.

Yikes. Only 35k is really bad. How did MK8 do in its first week in the UK?

Super Bomba Bros. For Bomb U!

I suppose most of the sales came from just the Smash Bros. fan base. It's likely that a good majority of them have both a Wii U and a 3DS, which explains why the numbers between the two versions arent too far apart. And it also looks like Mario Kart had a better launch as well. Smash Bros. wasnt a system seller at all, no mention of hardware increases, no devilish numbers like Mario Kart. I guess Iwata's pact with the devil is over. Hope it has good legs, but I doubt it.

LBP3 is pretty bad too.

It sold nearly 100k.
