Final Fantasy 7.
The Good: Its uniqueness, and the impact it had on the industry. The setting is very interesting. And it has an absolutely amazing soundtrack.
The Bad: Dated gameplay, with clunky controls to explore the overworld, random/forced/notbychoice encounters interrupting your time exploring the world, basically forcing you to grind and giving you (me) a heart attack anytime I'm about to open a chest/go to another location as a loud as fuck screamer with a super flashy screen filter just HAPPENS out of NO WHERE (but who likes to have the choice of what to fight or when to grind? Immayrightguyz?). A battle system that really lacks "meat" to it; attacking your enemies is NOT satysfying at all and landing a timed hit doesn't feel anymore "stronger" than a normal attack would, plus, timing those attacks basically has no skill to it, there isn't any visual/audio hint to help you land it, so it becomes a matter of luck/playing the game a thousand times to learn to have that PIXEL PERFECT timing, blocking/orwhatever also falls under this BS. For all the time I played, I NEVER, EVER, needed to use a single item (besides 1 TIME, in that, from what I remember, my materia configuration was completely removed from all my characters before fighting a boss WITHOUT WARNING ME BEFORE IT, or just giving vage hints of the fact) my magic was always enough to cure my party when needed, and I always had a place to recover my magic when needed. For all the people that keep complaining about FFXV being a mindless and dumb action game just for being an Action RPG I expected something with a little more strategy here than just ATTACK>BEATTACKED>REPEAT>LOSEMUCHHEALTH>CURE>REPEATHOLEPROCESSINFINITELY, I'm not even exaggerating when I say that the Devil May Cry games, yes, a hackn'slasher/buttonmasher/flashoversubstance/whateveryouguyscallit game series has 100x more strategy than this. The only characters I found interesting were the Berret (I think that was his name?) and Tifa (Yeah, the boobz chick), everybody else I found boring and made the whole experience a utter chore.
The Worst: It spawned one of the most cancerous fanbases I've ever seen besides the Sanic one.
Well, that's quite the essay, cheers if you make it through the whole thing. I dare you.
I'm now filled with determination.

Respawning at a Vita chamber is the same thing as dying and respawning at a checkpoint...... |
Nah, with a Checkpoint, the whole game restarts from that point. So all those enemies, turrets and traps are right back where they were before. But with Vita Chambers, you just spawn in the very Same instance. So you could just make your way step by step. Kill a Bunch of guys, start again, kill the Rest. You could also just straight run into Big daddies, hit them until you die, rinse and repeat. They will fall eventually, which is also why they are no threat at all.

Alien isolation:
The good: I managed to get past a game breaking bug at the start of mission 16.
The bad: I wasted over an hour on a known game breaking bug that's still in there almost 2 months after release.

I got that same bug! Had to run through all of chapter 15 again to be able to continue the game. That is totally unacceptable and I imagine most players would just trade in the game at that point.
I fucking hate The Wolf Amo......These Lips are sealed.
Paper Mario Sticker Star
The good: The presentation is pretty nice.. The visuals are nice and the soundtrack is pretty catchy!
The bad: Pretty much everything else sadly..

It's a win win imo. Haters get what they want and we all get a cleaner, more respectful forum. |
I think the ioi and smeags are afraid of dividing the userbase, everyone would be there on the free world and the rest of the site would die.

You're more than welcome to say what you like about games, but mod criticism like some posts here is not acceptable at all. If you have a complaint then PM the mod in question, if not then use the mod thread so long as you follow the rules of this thread.
Either way this isn't the place for it; and any additional mod criticism will result in moderation; but if you want to say why a game is good or bad then you're more than welcome to do that in any thread. So long as you back it up, ofcourse.
For example I just don't get along with the Uncharted series. Don't know what it is; probably a combination of things but the story never really gripped me. Similarly the gameplay was solid but never made me go "wow this is amazing". It looks good and it's a good game, but I don't get all the hype.

Same for me. First I thought I had entered some weird dream sequence, appearing in random places over the ship, yet then I noticed I was appearing in order of locations from past travel saves. All that is described in that thread happened. I finally made it to Seegsons communications and could not turn. The 3rd time I got there I sort of managed to navigate by map and look behind button. Yet even after moving around the enemies on easy, shooting them while the crosshair was on them still would not hurt them.
Had to do chapter 15 over, without saving, not interacting with anything, hurrying through. I got past raincoat Joe by circling around a table with him in pursuit. On the 3rd try the Alien left me alone and luckily I remembered the little critter in the ship in time.
