If you asked me this question in october I would have told you by the holidays 2015. But now I am beginning to think that sony may leave the price of the PS4 at $399 for another whole year at least and officially drop the price to $299 by E3 2016.

Rather than cut the price next year, I expect to see sony do things like bundle a free game with the console or increase the HDD size.

I don't hink they would do that. Sony should know that if they cutthe price of the PS4 to $299, being the best selling console it only means that we will automatically then have a $199/$249 XB1/WiiU. No doubt about that. So they wouldn't really be killing off the competition but just making everyone fight harder.

Not anytime soon. Sony needs money bad, why cut revenue by $100 per console when it is still selling the most?

With all this success Sony is having with the PS$ I think they feel like they don't need to give it a pricecut until late 2015, early 2016 pricecut

Considering how well it's doing this year against a cheaper XBO, I don't think they will cut the price to $299 til 2016. Possibly along side a Slim announcement. Next year, however, they will definitely cut the price to $349, and package a few games around the holidays, again. It's really all they have to do.

I'm thinking they'll announce at Gamescom and reduce price at the end of August or beginning of September right when the Summer game drought ends.
